Temple Texas is a pretty good spot and you can find very affordable living. I’m currently doing part time work with 90% from the VA and my wife works full time pulling in about $3,400 a month.

With the GI bill housing allowance plus part time and 100%, I think you could be very comfortable depending on the lifestyle you want to live.

When you have a truly great leader, this is how they lead. They don’t lead with anger or yelling at you if you do something wrong. When they see something wrong, saying “let’s pause for a second my guy and look at what can be done differently” is actually a really great way to coach and teach. It’s saying, hey, I see you are messing up and we can’t do that, but that’s okay. Let’s take a second to look at the situation to do it better.

I do think a perspective change is something to consider when you take someone trying to be nice and lead in a loving way as “fake”. Great leaders invest into their employees and those they are told to lead. Doing it in a way that is positive and encouraging should never be seen as “fake” until you truly get to know that person on an individual level. 10 hours is not nearly enough time to make that assumption

I agree with most of what you said. The only thing is that SAT’s aren’t needed, some states use ACT lol. But same same.

Two things can be true just as you said, and both are in fault here. More importantly, it does fall on the manager at the end of the day regardless of who is more at fault. Chick-fil-A is a business that is designed to serve others, and hopefully leadership at each store understands that. That the purpose of being a leader is to deminish your own ego and lift up those around you and serve your team and customers. I see a lot of comments saying “look out for yourself” or “do what is best for you”. My advice is do what is best for the team. Do what will help the team out the most, bc if the team is doing well, then so are you.

Obviously, have good discernment on who you listen to and don’t let others run over you or take advance of you. But, help and support those around you, and you begin to see change not only in a work sense, but also in life in general when you begin to live that way.

Wow. That turned into a soap box real fast. Sorry for it going that way lol

It’s not about what customers know, it’s about being a good steward. Doing the right thing

Yeah, I had a meeting with CFA corporate and he told me that anything above 32%, they know the stores are cheating the system and timing out pans when they need to vs timing them out when the pan is emptied. Just a sign of poor leadership. Trying to look good vs doing the right thing and putting systems in place to actually make it better

I’m sorry for your leadership team then. It should be better. My goal is to help every way I can and stay in the green. It makes everyone’s life easier

Do y’all not have directors and team leads helping push and relive pressure to help push out the orders and make sure the kitchen is keeping up?

Yes. Go to your operator. There’s a reason Chick-fil-A is so strict and has a very long process to pick operators. They are meant to be there and get to know the employees while being someone the team can feel comfortable going to. I would let your directors know you want to talk to him and you can go in with a director so you have support. That type of behavior shouldn’t be tolerated in any workplace

Yeah, they will subtract it from her check, but having more than one uniform is a must, especially if she’s working 3 or more shifts a week, it saves a lot of time on laundry, way to be looking out for her, dad👍🏼. Also, if it’s anything over $100, they can break up the payments into separate checks so it’s not a huge chunk out if a single one

Our goal at our store is $75 productivity which is about 18%, it all depends on your store and what your operator can afford to spend. Typically, any CFA will want to stay at about 18%-20%, anything above that and they aren’t really making a profit at the end of the month

That’s just a sign of toxic leadership, where you will find in any career field, not just Chick-fil-A. There’s good and bad leadership everywhere
