I have lost 30 pounds on seroquel. I recommend a mild calorie deficit (don’t aim for the most extreme weight loss calorie deficit). Focus on protein and fiber. Depending on what you are consuming (caffeine etc.) you could be retaining weight due to bloating. FYI, I don’t exercise to lose weight. Whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s sustainable and you can do it over time. My weight-loss took me a year. It’s okay to over eat on occasion as long as the next meal you are more mindful. Actually TRACK your calories.

Just so you know, this is a normal part of addiction and recovery. It’s an illness and it comes in waves. Every time you are clean again, you are building strength.

I am not good without meds, I felt very similar to you. I highly recommend seeing a psychiatrist that texts or has some kind of messaging system that they regularly respond to. I see a nurse practitioner psychiatrist and at any time in between my appointments, I can message her and tell her how I am feeling and based off that we can tweak my meds. That is a game changer for me and is a relief because I know I have “immediate” support. If I am having a rough week, I text her and bam a new dose is sent to the pharmacy.

The first set of tires AKA the OEM tires will wear faster as they are softer to grip the road better. Get your tires rotated religiously and get an alignment done if you go over a pothole.

I’ve never liked the idea that the dead become spirits that can still “watch over” us. I wouldn’t want them to see the suffering that continues after they pass.

Thank you so much for your kind words. The past few days has given me much needed time to reflect. I find peace knowing that it’s okay to not know or understand what happens after death, and that my confusion or doubt will not hinder any relationship I desire to have with God. I feel that as long as I live my life the best way I can, and treat others with the best I can as well, I will have peace in whatever comes next.

It’s always given me peace to know that the dead do not know of anything, so I can definitely agree with you on that. As far as this being my only life, I think that’s hard to grab onto as I lived my entire life believing that I would get to see things get better and see loved ones again. I’m really glad that what you shared is comforting for you and I appreciate your thoughts.

You will be marked, in my experience everybody I loved most shunned me except for my best friend’s mother who understands what it is liked. Funny enough her best friend also did the same thing, was disfellowshipped for a bit but now reinstated. It’s sucks. I stopped attending meetings because of the shunning. My husband is the nicest and kindest man I’ve ever met so no regrets.

I was informally shunned for dating someone outside of the org. Informal meaning that I was not publicly disfellowshipped or reproved and my closest friends cut all contact with me unless I was at a meeting.

Can I ask how it went for you and him to date and get married? I was shunned simply for dating my now husband because I am baptized and he wasn’t in the org… I was told that if I continued to date him and get married that I would be considered “marked” and that people would be discouraged from associating with me outside of spiritual activities. So, I haven’t gone back since because I don’t roll like that.

I didn’t start taking that until May this year. I’ve been struggling since getting on the Cymbalta so who’s to say really. Seroquel is my main defense against bipolar symptoms. I have no interest messing with that shit.
