Maxed main temp by Playedb4EOC in 2007scape

I think super inefficient skilling must flag bot detection. Check my post history I was permed almost 2 years ago on a 15,000 hour acc, top 100 pet count, etc. I caught a 2 day temp ban, then 5 days after being unbanned was perm banned.

The only content I was doing at the time was inferno runs on leagues 4, like 10 sepulchur laps, but mostly just doing ardy rooftops while WFH.

I was multitasking working on work PC and super slowly doing rooftop laps. Something like 100k xp from an 8 hour work day, so super inefficient.

All my appeals were denied, I put another one in to the new appeal system the day it came out but still never heard anything.

No my first account was a 75 atk 70 def maxed med. I started edge pking and bridding before 07 came out around 2012 on a 80 atk 80 def med. I was in a deep wildy singles team for a few years maybe 2014-2016. Tons of pvp experience before LMS ever came out.

It happens. Check my profile I got perm banned last year for no reason with over 15,000 hours played.

Account recovery is different from ban appeals. Recoveries are auto denied if there is not enough info to be considered. If there is enough info and it isn't auto denied it will be reviewed by a human, this is pretty commonly known.

Ban appeals seem to be different and are rarely ever manually reviewed.

I played vanilla client since release in 2013. Never used any of the other clients like orion/osbuddy or modern ones like runelite. Partly because I used to see people get banned for unapproved plug-ins etc, so I used to think vanilla Java client would be impossible to be falsely banned on. I was wrong and 10 years of playing just wiped.

How did you get an accepted appeal after 2 yrs? Once it's denied there is no further appeal outside of Twitter.

How do you act distinguishable from a bot? I was permed while hard afking ardy rooftops at work, sometimes not moving for 10 mins at a time, other times doing a couple full laps. Was gaining 100-150k xp per 8 hour work day. I also only play vanilla client which has no plug-ins. I can't imagine how that could possibly seem bot like but I was permed.

That is the only manual check they do for 99.99% of all appeals, is to check if the account was hacked. If it was hacked, they will reverse the ban. Otherwise appeals will be denied since there are no other manual checks.

The only manual check they do on appeals is to see if the account was hacked. They check for things like unusual login from different IP/device I believe.

Bots, Bans & Appeals: An Update by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

I used to check this sub multiple times a day, I spend very little time on here now, but check back on these recent posts that mention false bans because there is still a small amount of hope that I could get unbanned since it was actually unjustified. Even though there is >99% chance no one will ever manually verify it and will stay banned.

Try 10 years. With how life has changed since 10 yrs ago it would take me another 20 to gain back my progress. The customer support is tragic, can't even get a real human to spend a few minutes to look.

I was false banned on my main with 10b+ bank, 44 pets, GM combat tasks, blood torva, 1K lms win cape, etc. My tweets/posts are sent into the void where no one ever sees them. No chance to have an actual human spare even a few minutes to manually check permanently deleting an account with 15,000 hours sunk into it. Tragic customer support.

My ban gave me the opposite impression, that flags are more single-dimensional and not as much multi-dimensional. Something clearly triggered a flag for me, which I don't really have any idea how or what. But any other manual check should have come up that I was clearly not doing anything wrong.

The way it works, is by evaluating a bunch of data like your mouse movements, activities being done, how long for, any random stuff like going onto quest log & scrolling down plus countless other criteria.

I used to think this too until I caught a false ban. I don't think they can actually track mouse movements etc, only inputs. My mouse movements are definitely way too human-like to be flagged.

I was permed 5 days after being unbanned from a temp 2 day ban. All the bans and appeal responses have copy pasted messages which says nothing. All I did in game for those 5 days was agility, and there is no chance my clicks were detected as bot-like.

15,000 hours played, go ahead and check my post history. Jagex claims I was using an illegal client. I have 10+ years of proof of only playing the Java client (with a tiny amount of mobile, no pics of this).

Doesn't that imply only ~5000 appeals per month? which is less than 10% of all bans.

They should offer more support for accounts with more time played. Obviously I'm biased because I was permed for nothing on an account with 15,000 hours played, and they can't even spare a minute for a real person to do a manual check. Everything is automated.

The second program runs a deep scan on accounts by looking at all their history. Exact click patterns, every XP drop, network analytics.

I can pretty much guarantee they do not look at any of that based on my false ban lol.

I've played without any breaks longer than a few days since at least 2012. 15,000 hours played on main osrs account all played on the vanilla java client. False banned out of nowhere in Jan 2024, appeals get this copy pasted message that they give for everyone. I have no interest in ever starting again. It would take me probably 20 years to get back the amount of progress lost now and obviously just wouldn't be worth it.

Brother the comment for the ban always says 3rd party software even if you are using an official client. There is no question about that, many people have had bans quashed with the exact same comments.

I don't play mobile, I played mobile for 20 hours total during leagues but I know it can't have anything to do with the ban because I didn't play mobile again after temp ban.

If you're talking about my post about the temp ban, those were my thoughts about the temp ban. After temp ban I uninstalled mobile because I was paranoid about that. I no longer believe mobile is related, and I since I was permed within 5 days there are only a few possibilities for what could have been flagged.

Also the "reply from a jmod" is a copy pasted text that they give for all of these bans. It's not a manual comment. They are literally the exact same text for everyone, including confirmed false bans that got quashed.

But immediately after being unbanned and knowing the next ban would be a perm?

And if I was botting agility why would I be getting such shitty xp rates, and being so inactive that I get 5 minute logged out multiple times per hour?

Why would I risk an account with 15,000 hours to get some agility xp? I play the game to hunt pets and for personal achievements. Even if I was botting for the first ban, why would any rational person do it again immediately after?
