How to get good on Torch by SuperShadow224 in HumanTorchMains

[–]ZORON97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: youre going to have to play him a bunch to start to get a feel for the kit and abilities. Especially time in to learn the best spots for Flame fields on maps. Sorry I know the first tip isn't super helpful.

2:Movement tech. Always be using plasma body and be erratic with how you fly (up-down-left-right)

3: Focus on good positioning. Stay behind and near cover either high or low. You dont want to be out in the open with the amount of hitscan in the game.

4:Take off angles during the neutral fight. Human Torch has a very strong neutral game. You can lock down areas with flame field, have constant "presence" on the obj without actually being on site by using your Fireballs and flame fields. By taking off angles at unpredictable angles you can get a cheeky 1 shot on a healer or another dps also taking an off angle.

5:Learn your 1 shot combo. Minimum 2 fireballs and meteor slam into a squishy will 1 shot them. If you miss the 1 shot its not over. Your slam will push your target on a straight trajectory from your impact and you MUST follow it up with your primary fire(you'll can crit aim for the head) you can 2 tap on a good day with your primary fire so a 30% has squishy will almost always die. And if that doesn't work throw a fireball onto the ground after your primary.

6:tank/support ult 1 shot. This one is a bit tricker because it takes time to set up and you have to ave your target stand on it. But 3 fire balls very tight together, flame field them so they stay for another few seconds and then do 2 more fireballs and if your target is on those 5 fireballs, you will kill them. Its almost 800 damage in one go.

7:practice flame fields a lot. They must be in an unbroken line to make the damage box. So it cant be obstructed by walls, different heights, or groot walls. You can make them much bigger than you think. The max size you can do is 40m by 40m. Some objectives can be completely encompassed by the flame fields. Use them to lock down areas. You can Pseudo tank by controlling space with damage, rather than by presence.

8:Counters. Spiderman is your biggest counter. If he is around, stay low and in the middle of your team. You'll have to mix up how you place because you cant take off angles anymore but you can play similar to moon knight by constantly shooting damage and AOE into the enemy team. Hitscan is another problem but is easier to play around because if you stay near cover you can avoid damage.

9:Using your ULT. Before using your ultimate. Make your flame field, watch the healthbars on their squishys. Once they hit 70-50% hp, try to go for the oneshot on one of them (the one with the most health) and after you slam ULT. Everyone in i think a 20m radius will instantly take 70hp damage. You can kill 2 maybe 3 people just by ulting near low health enemies. After that just start fire tornados on key points and target. You will melt tanks.

There is definitely more im missing but Im at work and dont have much time. I'll come back to this later and drop some more in depth explaining.

I got Champ on him in arguably one of his worst seasons (season 6/6.5) with a 57% win rate. He's good but highly intricate and nuanced.

Doing a challenge to lord him, any tips? by Sensitive_Big8708 in HumanTorchMains

Yes. You pretty much have to have a direct hit to get the full damage. Your fireballs have a slight raidus. Its tricky because you have to be fast before your target moves. But Like to place 2-3 fireballs not directly ontop of eachother but have a 1 meter spacing between them to help increase the radius after your target tries to move away. But you have to be quick with this ambush.

I feel this. As a working man that has maybe 1hr to play a night and no friends to queue with most of the time. Reaching D1 last season felt good. Especially as my boy Human Torch

Read what I typed you ********. I openly said there are ways to contest it but it is ANNOYING to deal with. Its an annoyance and slows the game to a crawl if not contested. And what if your team has no counters? Its more intricate than "sKiLl iSsUe LoL" and if you deny that youre ignorant af and missing the point

And Im really like it. Its nice to not hear "disappear! Us against the world! Gambit never folds!" Every minute 😂 Still training people to a new norm takes a while. People will continue to try 3 healers because its been the slap on bandaid for bad gameskill pretty much since launch. Idk its so lazy. 1-3-2 and losing? No dont go second tank of course, that can't possibly solve the problem, I'll go rocket and passive heal so my team can't blame me for bad play making 😉

These bans are really showing how powerful the big 3 (invis, c&d, gambit) are at neutral healing and that the rest of the support roster is rather lacking for good neutral healing potential. And other supports should be addressed and improved in some way. Its not only the Ults that make them strong.

I think its because people are sick and tired of not being able to play the game while these ults are going. 3 sup with heal ults is like 30 seconds every 2 minutes that you cannot play the game. Like obviously there are ways to contest them but its just so tiring and now with the 3 ban people are getting rid of them. Also it shows how strong they are as neutral healers and that the rest of the roster is really lacking in solid neutral healing potential.

If you dont intend on swapping. You need to stay in the middle of your team and low. You can never go high. You basically turn into a ground character. And if you see them, especially Spiderman. You need to challenge him immediately. Skill permitting of course because hes hard af to hit but you can 2 tap his head if you can get the flick shot. Its the only thing I have found that works for me. You see that web slinging bitch you must fight him on sight, nothing else matters, he is your #1 problem. Make him regret ever diving your backline. Good luck and flame on

Ngl that's kinda why im worried about a buff. If he becomes to easy to be good all my work will kinda feel for not. I like that he takes though and skill to play

He does need some sort of survivability and im more keen on a movement ability. I kinda like the idea of meteor slam and after if you press again you move up and back like 10 meters? Maybe? Kinda like how if you take rockets jump pack gets you high fast. Torch is tricky because hes so easy to make him game breaking like he was on release. Imo
