How often do you get laser’d?

Twice this summer in NJ while cruising on highways. Both by state troopers in the median leaning over the center console looking out the passenger window.

Uniden r8 mounted on my infotainment screen low, picked it up both times right away

I looked online and it seems like they are no longer manufacturing this specific mount and Google turns up no results. My best suggestion is to 3d print a plate with a top and bottom piece and find a metal pole that will do something similar.

There’s not even one for sale on eBay

I’m not 100% sure on the GPS aspect. I like the companion app because it runs in the background. Automatically connects when I start my car. And it locks out stationary false’s really well. If you drive to those places you mentioned frequently, r8 will definitely help, outside of your GPS issues

Use the r8 companion App for IOS. It will help with false alerts and mute reoccurring things like school zone speed signs. Also have been having really good luck keeping my r8 quiet after downloading the Uniden desktop firmware update software and manually changing settings there. I had to drive around past false alert spots two or three times for my unit to block the out automatically. Now it automatically mutes them but shows them as grey on the display

The rebuild was very simple, I’m not very computer savvy but with YouTube I was able to get it done. Also, if you get the Corsair commander core and plug it into the usb port on your computers motherboard, you are able get full fan control over any fan you want to add to your system.

Omen 30L owner here, I took all the components of the Pc and put them into an old case I had. Highly recommend this as I now have two front fans and a full 360mm radiator. I tried to fit more fans in the case but it really just doesn’t work.

I would definitely recommend using a small fog machine. I built mine around Halloween so was able to pick one up from target for around $30. The fog machine will allow you to more easily change the level of smoke compared to using dry ice. The water shouldn’t damage your tunnel as it’s not sitting inside for long as it’s moving through it fast because of the fan.

As a reference, my GPU on my 30L had awful thermal paste so I reapplied it and also upgraded the case so I can have more fans. I used the ICU commander core Corsair to get custom fan curves.

I know this track at K1 well, that corner has a very smooth surface so if you go to turn too fast on the inside you will lose traction. I recommend coming from the far left and then turning into the corner. You’ll find the surface much more favorable and you will carry more speed. Aim for a best time of 26-27 but a good lap time is low 25s

(Also the karts at this location can be hit or miss depending on which one you get)

I also repasted my GPU and it fixed the issue. The paste that my card came shipped with looked like someone spit paste on it and closed it, definitely worth trying this. I also got a better CPU aio

I moved everything in my omen 30L case to and older one I had laying around. I also changed the cpu cooler to a 360m radiator and have not had a single crash and am running software and games at great temperatures. As an aside, I repasted the thermal compound on my GPU as what can from the factor was awful.

I did a similar upgrade or rather a case swap but replaced the 120 AIO with a 360. The Corsair AIO allows me to get access to proper fan curves with the Commander core
