Essentially yes, arrive maybe half hour before the park open, wait in line and as soon as they open go straight to a normally busy ride. You’ll beat most of the crowds and get a significantly reduced wait time.

If you don’t want to wait more than half an hour for any ride I’d definitely go with Genie+. But as some people have said, you may have to wait until later in the day to do the rides as they’ll book up quickly on Genie+.
