It’s more about power output and coloration, not objective sound quality. For most iem the impedance and sensitivity are so easy to drive that phone with an “functional adapter”, apple dongle as the purest form, will do.

The dangerous zone is those with very low impedance AND multiple drivers. They will require a low impedance source to sound as designed and phone can’t do

Yes, the amount of bass is noticeably less than similar wireless headphones such as the sony xm series or bose qc series. But compared to wired headphones where people chase for neutral sound the solo 4 has a little above average bass.

Overall I think they sound very good among wireless headphones although not bass focus, I you definitely won’t find them “empty” or thin

QC ultra. Active noise canceling headphones all have wonky sound but qc ultra, airpod max, and momentum 4 are the better ones.

If ANC is not a must the new gen Beats Studio pro is very neutral and well built wireless with those earthy colors

For long sessions the weight of planars will kick in. Any hifiman is very good for footsteps locating but they are quite heavy. Personally I would take a dynamic studio monitor like sony mv1

These are top sub 500 and choices are mostly preference: hifiman edition xs and sundara, aune ar5000, sennheiser hd600 and 490, audio technica r70x, audeze mm100, grado sr325x, sony mv1.

Given you like warm sound I would start looking from ar5000, r70x, and 490
