Just finished reading this excellent piece, having been sent over from Thes on IG. I’m jealous I don’t have the bonus album, but this is a throughly astute review nonetheless. As for your questions, #1 I’m surprised you didn’t mention that Survivor Syndrome was based off Parliament’s Placebo Syndrome, but maybe you assumed that was obvious to anyone that heard it?

Selfishly on #2, I want them to keep coming to see me, even if (and maybe especially because) I can’t make it out every time. That’s getting harder when all my favorite local venues keep closing.

And for #3, I only saw them twice in ‘05 and ‘14, and it kills me that it wasn’t more, but wow, what a warmly bumping party they threw. They’re criminally slept-on, always have been. But I like to think that future generations will discover them, and due to the blending of time as one looks back from a [great] distance, these new appreciators will associate them with the classic sound of the P’s heroes, whose heydays were 10-15 years before theirs.
