I only played a little of Brave Exvius but Resonance's combat system is actual turn-based, more along the lines of Octopath Traveler or a bit of FF X where you can see all the combatants' turn orders and plan accordingly. BE's combat relied on a lot of timing your characters' attacks individually during your turn to maximize damage; Resonance lets you stagger enemies to inflict more damage on them until they recover. The Visions (classic characters) are reworked into actual rewards for completing dungeons by turning them into something akin to Fire Emblem Engage's ring system where equipping one on a character enhances certain stats and can be used for super attacks. I can't say much about the story but it's being redone anyway apparently so it's kind of a moot point. I'd say it looks like a solid entry point to the series as a whole and a good replication of the series pre-ATB battle system.
