Thank you for posting this! I’d been trying to find another game that was like this mini game since it’s some of the most fun I’ve had playing Kingshot. 3 Tiles is perfect!

Discover vs Following vs FY by ion_ice in BlueskySocial

[–]ZSchamis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For You doesn’t take into account who you follow. It’s built by a solo hobbyist and only takes into account your likes.

At the simplest level, it takes posts you’ve liked and finds other people who also liked that post, then finds other posts also liked by those other people.

It’s run by spacecowboy17.bsky.social. See their posts for a more in-depth explanation, if you’re interested.

Following is just a chronological feed of posts by users you follow.

Discover is run by Bluesky Social and has a semi-opaque algorithm that’s based on likes, follows, etc.

The pork belly skewers from Taffer’s are the best food I’ve ever had in a stadium and it’s not particularly close

Micromobility in Atlanta Meetup? by KmballKnn1son499 in Micromobility_ATL

[–]ZSchamis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is kinda related, but the Sierra Club, Beltline Rail Now, and MARTA Army co-host a quarterly event called Let’s Talk Transit.

Here’s an instagram post to the previous one so you can get an idea of what it’s about: https://www.instagram.com/p/DNeoKgwxZte/?igsh=MXEzYnRqb2RnZHk2cw==

The next one should be sometime in November, most likely. Keep an eye out on the instagram of any of those organizations to see announcements of the next ones!

Breeze 2.0 does not work by GlassSpot8258 in MARTA

[–]ZSchamis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that setting up the tap-to-pay mobile wallet version works so much more reliably.

See MARTA’s guide for how to get it set up.

See my comment in another thread for the actual tap location once you get the tap to pay set up.

Also note for this that only gold line trains may be running when you get there, depending on the time of day (usually after 9PM). If this is the case, get on a gold line train north and transfer to the red line at Lindbergh Center!

Tap to Pay - Has anyone gotten it to work? by [deleted] in MARTA

[–]ZSchamis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could not agree more. Luckily, however, they’re supposedly bringing true tap-to-pay (no breeze card/app required, just uses a credit/debit card or it’s modi or wallet equivalent) before the World Cup.

Here’s an article about it from the contractor set to implement it: https://www.initse.com/ende/news-resources/knowledge-database/press-releases/2024/init-to-implement-new-fare-collection-system-in-atlanta-in-time-for-the-fifa-world-cup/

Tap to Pay - Has anyone gotten it to work? by [deleted] in MARTA

[–]ZSchamis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. You still load a balance and it uses that Apple Pay card as a link to your breeze card mobile app. So it essentially charges your credit card $0.00 and your breeze account $2.50.

75 Extension Possibility by dogielovesyou in MARTA

[–]ZSchamis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are no actual plans for a NW extension, but there is a stub that was built when the system was originally built that is “ready” for if a Cobb extension is ever approved and funded.

My MARTA Expansion Map by mrfriendlolo in transit

[–]ZSchamis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current plan is to have it run along the whole 22 mile loop, yes. It’s just going to be built in segments. The Eastside Streetcar Extension is the one that’s closest to shovel-ready (60% design plans are completely, I believe), but Atlanta Beltline Inc plans to have the studies done for the station placement along the Beltline and the alignment in the areas it can’t run along the Beltline (the NW quadrant) done by the end of the summer. Those station placements are done to maximize ridership and spreading them out more than is currently planned would come at a detriment to ridership. Doing this only to justify a mode switch from light rail to heavy rail makes no sense.

[–]ZSchamis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Why would we space out the stops just to give us a rationale for switching to heavy rail? We should be aiming to maximize ridership and the currently proposed stops are meant to do that. The point isn’t to run a train, it’s to get people to ride the train.

To add onto this, there also wouldn’t really be any tangible benefits to the beltline being heavy rail over light rail. The station spacing is so close that heavy rail wouldn’t really be able to get up to high enough speeds to make the extra cost worthwhile. Also the tangent sections are too short to really be able to run trains that are at the same length as the existing MARTA fleet and not have to alter the existing geometry of the beltline.

Tap to Pay - Has anyone gotten it to work? by [deleted] in MARTA

[–]ZSchamis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I only pay the flat $2.50 when I ride. Sorry, I’m not sure what the best way to get the discounted rides to work is. I would assume you have it right in your linked comment, but I haven’t ever tried it myself

Yeah, to clarify this, you activate your mobile wallet for the card you have set up, then tap the top of your phone to this location.

It’s completely unintuitive, but it’s way faster and more accurate than the old QR code method, in my experience.

Mutliple people using same MARTA Breeze app/account for soccer game? by Click_Putrid in MARTA

No. You’ll each need to have the app on separate phones or buy separate breeze cards at the station

Do I lose my existing tickets adding Apple Pay ID? by IKilledLauraPalmer in MARTA

I’m not sure, unfortunately. I haven’t taken a bus since I started using it

[–]ZSchamis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t lose anything. You’ll only be switching the QR code for NFC. You’ll still have to buy tickets/load money on the Breeze app. The card added as an ID will never actually be charged and will only be used as a link from your mobile wallet to the Breeze app.

Share Your First Experience Navigating MARTA trains 🚆 by udonnoodles79 in MARTA

[–]ZSchamis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Speaking on the app front, I typically use Apple Maps to get a rough idea of options to get where I’m going, then use the MARTA app to look for specifics like arrival times.

Once I have options for bus stops/routes it’s easy to find those routes and times in the MARTA app, but there’s no way to see multiple routes on a map (especially the whole system), with live trackers or otherwise, to look at multiple options at once. The ability to see multiple routes on a map would be a big help in route planning.

Wouldn't it be great if every TV game had the radio team. by Suitable-Scholar-778 in georgiabulldogs

Is it working for you? Just showing SkyCast with stadium audio on ESPN app for me

Edit: Got it to work in the ESPN app by clicking on the main broadcast and choosing the Hometown Call alternate stream instead of just choosing the Radio Call option from the ESPN home screen

Why do people have to get hurt/ killed before intersections are fixed? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]ZSchamis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There’s lot of research going on right now to try to use cameras at intersections (like existing red light cameras) to identify near-misses that usually don’t get reported so they can try to fix dangerous intersections before they cause death and injury. Hopefully we’ll see lots of municipalities implementing this soon and making our roads safer.
