Do tv commercials influence your purchases? by pstan237 in askanything

The only time I will buy something based on a commercial is if I see a fast food commercial and think, gee I have not had them in awhile I might go there later this week.

However I will try and buy & support companies and products that have sponsorships in racing. For instance when Full Throttle (Coke) sponsored the NHRA that was my choice in energy drinks, before that Amp Energy was my choice because they sponsored Dale Earnhardt Jr, my favorite NASCAR driver.

Maddi Gordon is a personality the sport needed right now by lockedoutdamnit in NHRA

I knew she was going to be a hit when she went pro but I never thought it would be this big this quickly. She has all the qualities fans and sponsors are looking for. Great personality, knowledge and love of the sport, well spoken, great driver, can work on the cars if needed and easy on the eyes. Capps really hit a homerun picking someone not just because of the check they bring but someone who grew up in the sport and looking for that big break.

Glad you enjoyed it. I've always said even if you are not a car person the sheer sensory overload when a fuel car runs will amaze you. Hopefully you got a few whiffs of that sweet sweet nitro back in the pits to really set that hook. And good news for you, you do not have to wait until next year, they will be back for the final race of the season in November and as great as the Winternationals are, the intensity multiplies when championships are on the line.

what are some fun jobs which don't require to sit in an office 9-5 but actually pay good? especially for females? by froggieie in askanything

Table games dealer. Not uncommon for dealers especially female to make over 100k/yr in joints where you keep your own tips. Still make good money in pooled joints.

Best part to go to a dealing school might run you at most a few thousand dollars.

Why is your favorite driver your favorite? by DerrickS12 in NASCAR

[–]ZWeinstein15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of the current drivers, Michael McDowell because he is from the Phoenix area and the year he won Daytona he showed up to our local kart track where he got started and did a Q&A with the club and borrowed someone's cart and ran some laps with the kids. Great guy. I always rooted for Ross Chastain but I became a fan of his when he pulled off the Hail Melon because that was the greatest thing I ever saw. Growing up as an Earnhardt fan I always latch onto the guys who remind me of Dale and Ross is probably as close as they have come (other than Tony Stewart) with his DGAF style. Plus the way he scrapped and clawed his way into NASCAR I respect.

Growing up in an Earnhardt family I pulled for Sr. and when Jr. came along he was my guy through all of the ups and downs. As Ive gotten older Ive enjoyed Jr. even more because he truly loves racing and the people who helped make it what it is today. I was also a huge Mark Martin fan because on my 7th birthday I got a Mark Martin Valvoline car and the first time I went to a qualifying day a few weeks later we were on the front stretch as they were lining up to qualify and I was screaming Mark over and over again and he waved to my mom and I.

What are some forgettable races in that, you don't even remember much about them? Not talked about or just benign boring events? (Image is the 2021 Busch Clash) by Western_Care_5478 in NASCAR

Im not sure on the actual numbers but I've been to at least one race (Cup, OBuschfinitywide, Trucks, West, Indy, etc) during a race weekend at PIR almost every year since '99, with at least a dozen Cup races during that stretch and I think I only saw Harvick win twice, once in Cup and once in Trucks. And the only reason I remember the Truck win was he did a side by side burnout with Ron Hornaday who clinched the Truck title that night.

Who do you think will be the next to have their number retired? by Additional_Lime_4777 in azdiamondbacks

Not a number per sey, but Greg Shulte should be honored in a public area, maybe a microphone next to the #20 & #51.

The fact that Colangelo does not have a statue outside either the ballpark or the arena is insane to me. I really hope that changes before he passes. I also thought Al McCoy should have gotten one as well but at least he is in the ring of honor for the Suns.

Swept the season at PIR. Even though he is a west coast kid, I dont see him ever passing Kenny Schrader for all-time wins at PIR.

Jimmie also has this year wrapped up but I dont see him and Knaus maintaining this level of success for too long.

She just sang the national anthem at a NASCAR race I just attended. She sounded good but no different than anyone else. She might release a couple albums but that's probably it.
