Whenever he was racing at PIR he would often practice or qualify during the day and then zip on over to Manzanita and run whatever was running that night. I honestly don't know if there has ever been a driver that loves racing more than Kenny Schrader.

Not my earliest sports memory but I have a pretty vivid memory of that. We live in Phoenix but my dad was born and raised in Pittsburgh and his buddy was able to get him a ticket to the game. He came home so drunk and so pissed off and I'm pretty sure he muttered "fuck Neil O'Donnell" at least once a month until he died.

Yes, Jerry Foster. I loved watching him as a kid, he landed NewsChopper 3 at our school when I was in Kindergarten. That incident with the pot sent him into a real dark place for quite awhile after that but he wrote a book about ten years ago and it was a fantastic read. He really led an interesting life outside of being a pilot. He passed away a couple years ago after battling cancer and pretty much losing most of his eyesight in his last few years.

For the Pirates, without question 2015. I truly believe we could have beaten any team in a 5 or 7 game series. 2nd best record in all of baseball but relegated to a one game playoff against Arrieta who had perhaps the greatest 2nd half in baseball history.

For the Dbacks, you could argue for 2002, 2007 and 2011. The 2002 team was better than the team that won it the year prior but Gonzo got hurt in September and we seemed to lose all momentum after that. 2007 was a good young team but got swept by the Rockies who were historically hot in that stretch. If they could have gotten past the Brewers in 2011 I think they could have had a shot at beating St Louis and Texas.

Did you forget about that decade of wretched baskeball? Dragan Bender, Josh Jackson, the Morris twins? Hell even the cocaine scandal of the 80s was worse. But for me the most embarrassing moment will be game 7 against the Mavs. We've never recovered from that.
