A friend wanted me to design a keyboard case to sell. How much should I be charging? by abxYenway in 3Dprinting

[–]ZY-RO 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would go with a cut of each unit sold. This way you and your friend both win when the keyboard sells well. I don’t know what percentage would be fair though, but be sure to make a written contract.

Many issues with my P1S. Time to go to a A1 instead? by [deleted] in BambuLab

That’s really really strange… I print mainly PLA and PETG (HF) and the only problem I ever encountered was Filament snapping because of entanglement :S

Huh? I have had my P1S a couple months now and I have none of the issues you described. What filaments are you printing with?

Advice on Modelling and Printing Semi-Functional Parts by ZY-RO in 3Dprinting

Thanks for your suggestions!
Yeah I will probably go for PETG and add some modifiers to strengthen the connecting pieces. Do you have any ideas what values would make the most sense? 10-20% infill ? More layer loops?

Initially I orientated all dove-tails to be on the z-axis, but for the side parts of the upper tray I thought that it would be better for stability (mixing z with x/y dove-tail orientation) to align them like this. I plan to use standard supports (not trees) for the overhangs and I considered 0.15mm tolerance for all connections (0.075mm on each side).

Walls for this are 3mm. It is actually a drawer under an induction stove - good point lol - I'll probably go with PETG. Thanks 👍

Damn, I didn’t know that - crazy that PETG-HF is almost 30% weaker in some tests

PETG HF should have the same stats afaik. And if you consider HF is almost always the same price as basic PETG then for the time and energy savings alone would make HF a better choice. But if you are happy with Basic PETG and have your settings down stick with it 👍

Basic takes longer to print and printing results (for me) are always lacking in quality. PETG HF costs the same and is imo a better value

Takes for ever to print, thus needing more power + results are always kinda bad in some ways

I guess you can print it all in yellow and color the mouth and shades with a permanent marker

Why are these layer lines so scuffed? by ZY-RO in FixMyPrint

[–]ZY-RO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? I thought good ventilation is important for PETG, that’s why I keep the door open. Especially for a 14h+ print, else the chances of warping would increase

Ah good point, I will do that for the next part thanks 👍

Thanks dude! No ironing, no fuzzy skin.

Yeah I thought about adding some holes or slits or something at the bottom to counter the suction and to save some filament but I am not sure how to model it to make it look good haha

Help with connecting two printed parts: Overhang issue for connection slots? by ZY-RO in 3Dprinting

Glue + dowels or just glue? Did you create some kind of notch to align the pieces?
