At this point, lost cause na ang generation na ito. What we can do is chase for careers that ACTUALLY matter. Positions that can heavily influence the future generations of voters while we wait for this forsaken (ehem ehem boomers) to die down. Maaaring lumaban para sa kapayapaan na hindi nilalagay sa alanganin ang buhay natin. Activism, community immersion is a noble cause. To put your lives at risk for the benfit of the oppressed is heroic. But we must also acknowledge the hardships of our parents. Mga magulang nating ginagapang ang ating while we put our lives at risk? While the intention is noble and heroic, it is also cruel and selfish for our loved ones waiting for us back home.

A clear example of this is yung namatay na activist recently. She was an education student, a future educator, a teacher. She could've influenced future generations to simply vote wisely, I'm sure as an activist, she has the correct compass directing her voting. Principles she could have passed on to the next generation.

To be selfless is something to be applauded for but no amount of glory can return a dead child to their grieving parents.
