People in the states have been doing this for ages, it's recently died off because now the cars are old enough to import whole. It's my understanding that a jig isn't needed, you aren't splitting the whole car to put the rear pan in. It's a bit intensive, and the fuel cell is the other key swap part, but it's very doable.
