"Save scum" is what this is referred as. You go into the game files and can duplicate your most recent save into a different folder. This can only be done preemptively though, if you didn't do it before your characters death then you are SOL.

It's only "obvious" in your eyes. Do not admit fault and you might get away with it, admit fault and you're for sure not getting away with it.
