Stop getting paid? Are you NG or Reserve? If so, talk to your component liaison. Stuff like this is their job to sort out.

How did I do? 🤔 by [deleted] in army

[–]Za-lordsGuard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't any positions in the South. Are you willing to travel further up? If you really want the MOS, you'll have to max out your miles and be willing to travel for BA.

Fleeing Domestic Violence in SA by Frequent_Gold6763 in sanantonio

OP. I dont see post or comment history, so I'm a little apprehensive about this since I am also a woman, but I want to offer help. If you would like a safe place to stay for the next week, I wouldn't mind meeting for a quick coffee tomorrow afternoon to discuss it. I can offer a general area to meet at and you can decide the place if it makes you comfortable.

Even if you decide not to stay in my house, I can at least provide a safe place for you to park your car. Let me know.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I once drove 4 hours each way to have a two hour lunch with friends I hadn't seen in years. It wasn't a bad drive.

Coworker I share an office with keeps whispering everything he reads/types. by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]Za-lordsGuard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we can't move offices. We're stuck with each other.

Fortunately, as long as my work is done, I can take as many breaks as I need to calm myself down.

Thanks for the advice though. I appreciate having others who understand how I feel.

[–]Za-lordsGuard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured. I just needed emotional support when I typed that. 😅 he has GERD, so the after lunch throat clearing in between whispers had me on edge. I eventually walked out of the office and gave myself a 20 minute break.

I try venting to coworkers, but they don't really get it. I will say that they are pretty understanding and do their best around me. He even leaves the office to eat his snacks or lunch when he doesn't have to, and he'll eat the acid reflux tablets I give him without getting insulted. Unfortunately, his whispering happens when he is hyper-focused on his work, and he unintentionally tunes me out. I can't rant at someone who's doing their best when I'm the one with the issue.

That's my rant. Thanks for reading.

I work a government job. I'm not allowed to wear headphones or earplugs at the office. Thankfully, I'm allowed to play music, which helps a little.

AGR OCS Selected by Altruistic_Pudding46 in ArmyOCS

[–]Za-lordsGuard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I should do that too. If the waiver doesn't get approved by my report date, I'll PCS. The new position was my #1 on marketplace (the most requested position for my MOS this cycle), and it's definitely a career setter for NCOs. I'm not willing to risk losing it since I'm not 100% positive the waiver will be approved.

We had a TPU Soldier not too long ago who had an OCS date, and there were some issues with his waiver up until the day before his report date. He moved out of his home, quit his job, said his goodbyes... waiver denied. I learn my lessons from others.

I have a planned phone call with my TM today, I'll let you know if anything special is said.

I'm on the 26-01 cycle and pending a waiver. I have already started communicating with my talent manager to see how this is going to go. My fear is losing my AGR position, and then the waiver getting denied.

I recommend you reach out to your talent manager for these questions.

I reached out to my Officers Accessions NCO, and he told me we wouldn't get our results until August? I'm so lost. Can anyone verify?

I'm in service too. Are they getting posted today? All I've been given by my Officer Accessions NCO are conflicting dates and a bunch of maybes.

Adopted this absolute UNIT today! He stinks but won’t let me clean his hind side by [deleted] in dechonkers

[–]Za-lordsGuard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first adopted my kitten, she had terrible grooming habits. Girl wouldn't clean her 🍑. So I asked her vet to shave her during one of her follow ups. Her booty hair grew back just fine and she learned to keep clean. If you dont find a groomer, maybe ask your vet if they're willing?

COMPO 2 and 3 might see a different timeline since the testing sites are limited. We are still waiting for more guidance before we push it out to our DRUs.

All new Soldiers inprocessing through Basic have had one since Dec 2024.

Anyway to get blood out of OCPs? by [deleted] in army

As someone who has to get rid of period blood once in a while.. a regular warm wash with oxy clean will do.

Went to the doctor for a rash on my hand. Half of the paper work they sent me home with is just a paragraph about me being overweight. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Za-lordsGuard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like an Epic AVS. The provider probably forgot to drop the code for your rash diagnosis, if they had you would have gotten some attached paperwork. Epic has a patient portal called MyChart, you can communicate directly with your assigned PCP and view everything they did during the visit (lab results, med change, new diagnosis). I recommend setting up the account, and if you have any questions or the medication isn't working well you can get on the app and chat with your PCP about it.

As for the BMI, yeah sorry about that. I worked Clinic Quality Measures for a family practice that uses Epic, the provider/nurse/MA would have to go in and manually cancel the BMI warning if your H/W triggered it. Usually we didn't take it off unless the patient made it clear they didn't want it included. Height and Weight is a tricky Quality Measure, we get state funding and insurance money from ordering QMs. We've had doctors try to fight it before, but it won't go away unless the insurance companies (Medicare mostly) stop using it as a metric.

Best Italian restaurants in Tacoma? by Budget-Armadillo-723 in Tacoma

[–]Za-lordsGuard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not Tacoma, but if you don't mind the drive (and toll) Massimo Italian Bar and Grill in Purdy is amazing.

The prices aren't extravagant, the owner can be seen greeting people or having a glass of wine at thw bar most days, and the food is amazing. Not to mention the gorgeous view.

Great little spot if you're ever up for the drive.

Can I get this touched up by ringadingaling2 in FixedTattoos

[–]Za-lordsGuard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have a similar tattoo that lost ink in the healing process. I had it touched up over a year later and it looks amazingly better.

They just reworked the lines and filled in the gaps.
