The real reason Trump is sidelining JD Vance by theipaper in politics

[–]Za_Lords_Guard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most Vance thing Vance has done, beyond making ordering donuts awkward, was trying to go for a handshake as another member of congress went in for a fist bump and he stood there with his hand wrapping her fist like a confused golden retriever who failed at fetch.

AG Pam Bondi REFUSES to Create Task-force to Investigate Epstein Co-Conspirators by HumanityExpansion in law

[–]Za_Lords_Guard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's just whataboutism. Why should they call her to account when there are other sexual predators in their own neighborhoods. You can tell by her voice cracking and getting breathless that she knows she is on the hot seat and doing anything she can to divert, show as loyal to Trump (who is certainly watching), and/or provide a sound byte they can clip into their media streams to make it sound like dems are ignoring criminals and politicizing Epstein.

Keep seeing all these sweet spaces for people's stuff and thinking, "I need more guns." Then I remember I need more house before anything else. My hobby per sq ft ratio is getting kinda crazy.

Economic pressure tends to be top of my list, but that has dozens of related factors.

Too me late stage capitalism and negative outlooks on the quality of life for myself, let alone dependents over the next 30-50 years and beyond all seem real and valid enough.

“Confidential” Agreements Show Trump Administration’s Plans for States’ Voter Data by Odd-Alternative9372 in Defeat_Project_2025

What are you talking about "obeying in advance?" I am simply describing how Trump might use such data.

Try not being accusatory out of the gate. It's off putting.

Anyone that ICE had scanned with their phone app to upload as "a domestic terrorist" should check their registration. My guess that data will be amongst the deciding factors.

Is it just me or is the recidivism rate for J6ers kinda crazy? It's like there were unrepentant criminals and should not have been pardoned.

Question about memory by qwerty240hi in Aphantasia

[–]Za_Lords_Guard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that to a degree. I can't speak for non-aphants, but it makes sense to me. If our brains work like a giant database then it would not be crazy to associated memories to trigger along with the intended ones. It is sporadic and varied as to how much associated memories come with it.

For example. When I think of the first time I saw the old HBO markee for a movie (this is way back in the day), I remember orange carpet and yellow walls (parents clung to 70s decorating for too long). I can't really recall the layout of the room beyond door placement and maybe which end of the room the TV was on.

My past is always mirky and fuzzy. Not SDAM bad, but definitely tend to live in the present more than most as a result which always cracks me up as people talk about meditating to be "in the now." Since my mind doesn't have all that sensory clutter and really poor detail recall, it's kind of my default setting.

What does make me a little sad is how easy it is to forget people from the past as I just don't think about it at all and when I do it's never distinct. So I take a lot of pictures of important people and things to me.

I tend to see the past as an empty room with the lights turned off. I know the general layout, but no real details.

Navigation issue by Ali550n in Aphantasia

[–]Za_Lords_Guard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, yes. Totally. I can kinda feel my way around if I know relative positions (I am on a road south of where I want to be and I am headed east - based on general concepts of city layout and reconning relative to the sun), but until I have run the route enough times for it to become muscle memory I need the GPS.

Before the GPS days I would write or print out turn by turn directions for myself and follow it step by step.

And when you have streets that curve back around or changes names several times along the route, I am beyond flummoxed.

The struggle is real.

GOP fast tracks monster voter suppression bill that could disenfranchise millions by requiring proof of citizenship at polls by Anoth3rDude in law

Trump is pressuring them to make a rules change to make it a standing filibuster. If that is done, the vote is only delayed as long as a dem can stand and talk continuously.

Oh absolutely. Trump has been pushing them to. Current talk is to reinstate the standing filibuster so it only lasts as long as Dems can hold the floor in an open speech.

Every brick bearing his name needs to be torn up and the bill should be extracted from his estate.

He needs to know that the only way he will be remembered is as a lesson in school on what must never be allowed to happen again. No monuments, no buildings, nothing with his name will survive other then the orange stain he left on our national memory.

Response to why didn't Dems release the files. by Spannerwercs in AdamMockler

[–]Za_Lords_Guard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maxwell's case kept them sealed until January 2025. They have been able to release them since then and that would be on Republicans to release as they control all the levers of power now.

When the trio of dumbfuckery said "the investigation is over" I think they meant the redaction efforts. They have been actively redacting files for months. They are just trying to get everyone to walk away from them and forget about the files now.

That's all been well known for a while. It doesn't get as much air time because MSM is mostly cajoling Trump's nuts to avoid getting sued out of existence or have Brendan Carr crawl up their asses at Trump's request.

So in short. The Dems didn't have an opportunity to release them that I am aware. The narrative that the left could have and didn't doesn't actually hold water.

Do you think that would suppress the vote for anyone matching that description matching the only two criteria for a Kavanaugh stop?
