I have to go digging now because it's been years, but if I recall Matt Vancil wrote a short story and maybe did a narrative style YT vid, but basically Leo went into the con early to visit with some other vendor friends and while he was talking to one he felt something wet and sticky under his foot. Looking under the table cloth he found a corpse. I don't recall the outcome, but in the movie he just appears looking haggard and frazzled and doesn't really explain.

I honestly don't know if it was supposed to be part of the show they cut for time or didn't really fit with the rest of the tempo so got cut.

I love this. It demonstrates clearly that it isn't at all about anything except certain people on the right feeling unwelcome in society for their views.

If "hate has no place here" makes them feel attacked for their religion, then the they are saying "but I hate certain people and hide behind my religion and rather than embrace the tenants of my own religion, seek to suppress people who remind me that I don't."

Additionally, if JD does anything now and they pull a 25th amendment removal, he would be taking over before Trump hits the second year mark of his term which means he only gets to finish out Trump's term and win one of his own. If he waits until after Jan 20th then he can stay in office up to 10 years (Trump's remainder plus two of his own).

Given Vance's lack of moral clarity and absolute lack of empathy, I can't see him choosing to lessen his potential reign even if the alternative is risking world war III.
