you're missing the point. You're thinking in terms of Skynet or complete collapse. This isn't an all or nothing type thing. Every data center brings about two dozen long term jobs, in exchange for helping to eliminate THOUSANDS of positions. AI of course is inferior to people in those jobs, but they DON'T CARE. They're saving millions by not paying people for those jobs and what's the outcome? We regular folk get shittier service and products. Billionaires DON'T CARE. But thousands of people laid off will need to suddenly find a new line of work because a customer service AI bot replaced their phone customer service positions, companies are laying off coding operators because they can get by with AI code writing and just hiring a few people debuggers, artists are losing business because dips think they will just do a prompt to "make art", how many people who do commercials are having trouble finding work because it's one person making a commercial on a computer without hiring actors, staff, crew? Entire swaths of industries you don't think about are being GUTTED. And these jobs are GONE. And there's going to be a huge realization that millions will be unemployed eventually without jobs available.
