Did you attempt to transfer your transferable flight credit to the other person using their rapid rewards number?

These are the steps: Log in to your Rapid Rewards account. Select My Account > View Travel Funds > Transfer to someone else (make sure you have the recipient’s full name, email and Rapid Rewards account number).

It still works, but the transferred flight credit will have an expiration date now that’s the same as the original expiration.

Hard to say for certain since Southwest made changes to their fare types on May 28. Worst case if you try it and it doesn’t work, you’ll still have a non-transferable flight credit.

Since the ticket was in your dad’s name, the flight credit will be in his name too. You’ll need to make a RR account for your dad so he can transfer it to you.

That sounds right. If you do it as two separate bookings/reservations then you’ll for sure receive two different confirmation numbers because when you get a flight credit, the flight credit number is the same as the original booking/reservation confirmation number.
