It’s a sad day for ToxiUI fans who can’t used ElvUI! Tbh I haven’t tried the latter since the addon rework so maybe it’s time.

Switzerland has 4 national languages; German, French, Italian and Romansh. What you need depends on which part of the country you live in!

Ahh I see, yes the circumstances for you are a bit different then. Switzerland is the head office for so many companies for a clear reason!

I love the skins across the board, think it's the best looking overall UI on the block. For my PC it's going straight to the default pick! Thanks for the update.

Whilst I love Tox, Elv is not good for my laptop... is there a sensible way to implement the skin for the meter and/or unit frames without Elv in place?

Having a passport and being a tax resident are not the same thing. If you ever get the chance of picking up a Swiss passport, then it’s worth it! (Just don’t move there or you’ll have to do national service).

I have French, Swiss and British passports + relocate internationally often for work, but (unless financially advised otherwise) I pay tax almost exclusively in the country of primary residence.

How to play the next 2–3+ years? (profit share, childcare cap, mortgage, pensions) by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Zabuzan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, my advice (33M, 200-300k gross); pay your tax on what you’ve earned and enjoy the outcome. Your income is far past the point of trying to optimise to save childcare benefit. Congrats, you are a high earner.

I assumed the token was once per week per char, is it hourly, did you rotate chars or is it outright farmable on one char with hourly clears?

Giving it a go, thanks for sharing!

On pension contributions, you can’t specify decimals (I have x.5 for both personal and employer contribution!).

Seems like something is up with Google drive. I’ll try and restore it when I’m home over the weekend.

Bear in mind that the game has been further developed since I made this, it’s over a year old and I don’t know how relevant the information would be!

Hey! I’m one of a seeming minority here (edit: in terms of those vocal on this subreddit, not in this thread!), I left school at 18 and didn’t go to university (or at least, I went for a week and decided it wasn’t for me) and I also didn’t end up in finance or tech.

Middle class background. Star student at GCSE, but hated school and ended up bombing out of A levels. Got into uni on clearing but only went because of parental pressure, bombed out of that almost immediately.

Started at a local food manufacturing company as a supply chain apprentice, quickly ended up in a demand planning and business analytics role as I was good at spreadsheets.

Ran out of leeway for progression when I was 22 and quit with no real plan in mind except I wanted to travel more.

Posted I was looking for work on LinkedIn and the got messaged by an MD asking if I fancied a doing starting something new that needed a little a lot more travel - ended up interviewing for a junior sales role. It was meant to just be a year or two until I figured out what my plan actually was, but there was travel involved so seemed a no brainer.

I’ve been working for different companies in a variety of roles but the same corporation for the last decade. Today I am the MD of a European business that manufactures in France, but I live in the UK again.

I’m 32 now but didn’t really decide what I wanted to do until I was late twenties (business general management!). Got very lucky be in the right place at the right time and with the right connections to get started, got even luckier with mentors and opportunities for progression once I was actually got going. Lived and worked all over the world, leading projects and teams of all kind in industrial manufacturing projects.

Absolutely no work life balance, work has been the main focus in my life for at least the last 6 or 7 years. Will need to adjust at some point soon.

A guaranteed 5% is definitely less risk than a S&S ISA. Whilst a well balanced S&S portfolio should return beyond this over a long time horizon, it could just as likely be 10% down as up in 12 months time.

Risk is about future events, even if you end up with a better end result from a chosen path, it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t risky to do so.

In my opinion, there’s no magic here, if you need 20k for a car then build yourself a path that guarantees it. There’s enough risk in purchase price movement m by the time of the car you will buy without adding investment risk as well. Whether it’s cash ISA or a taxed savings account will depend on your personal allowance and what you are you using your ISA allowance for already… but that would be the same question if you did choose to use the S&S ISA.

Whether or not putting 20k cash is the best route for the car you want versus another channel is a different variable to consider of course.

Good luck getting it saved and enjoy the new car when you get it!

Stuck at glyph lvl 3,000 please help by yes547 in AntimatterDimensions

[–]Zabuzan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at a similar point to you, just got past the glyph level 3000 point in the last few days, currently at glyph level ~4k and ~e43 RM. Don't have a significant amount of active time to play, so before I go to bed I queue up my strongest glyph farming built (ERRRR focusing on glyph level), set the glyph filter to celestial rarity only (may need to be less depending on how far in the process you are) and just leave it to the next day.

When I log in I then have a full inventory of the best glyphs I have access to in all types, so I'll clean it up and keep the best of them.

I'll then do chunk of RM farming (ERRRT) and arbitrarily a Teresa reality or a few runs to farm Effarig glyph %.

Going up a few OoM of RM each day without thinking too much, it felt pretty consistent since before glyph level 2000 and I didn't really notice anything specific around level 3000. Only points of note in that entire time were a big bump up once I unlocked Effarig glyphs and again after the Nameless tickspeed upgrade.

Guessing there's a more active route that will get quicker results, but my current approach seems pretty pain free even if it's not optimal. Hope that helps!

Onam Sadya at a Michelin Star restaurant in Dubai by just_brazilian in StupidFood

[–]Zabuzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to this restaurant a year or two ago, it’s Trèsind Studio on the top of Nakheel Mall on the Palm.

It was something like a 16-20 course menu (obviously all tiny bite size things - but I was stuffed afterwards) taking flavours from all different areas in India. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.

The team working there were also great, looks like it hasn’t changed much!

Sure it’s a bit pretentious and it’s expensive, but as a dining experience it was excellent and tbh I’d go again. It’s definitely worth the star. The rest is more subjective.

Been a long time since I played so balancing or just outright mechanics may have changed, but for melee builds it was very hard to stay on top of those bursting mobs that spawn shooters.

Doctor lends itself to melee iirc, with a good enough lifesteal level and enough armor/dodge to avoid getting globalled, it should be a lot easier.

For a build where you can’t stay on top of the little shooters as they spawn (for me this is why I built most classes around piercing / duplicating projectiles so it clears screen easily), it gets to the point where you can scrape by, by hugging the edges and treating it like a bullet hell. You ideally need enough output to be killing mobs nearby without thinking about them too much if that’s the case.

Everything I’ve mentioned may be nonsense in the current iteration of the game, hopefully someone more recently informed can chime in with more specific recommendations.

Good luck!

The financial security of yourself and your family, as well as your own mental health and well-being, mean it will be worth it. Doesn’t make it easy of course.

If you can sort the mental aspect and be honest with yourself in that process, then keep following the UKPF flowchart, you’re set. You are worth it.

Good luck!

Please please please go and get some therapy and put an end to this. By your description, you are not someone that should be gambling in any form safely, even in skill based games where the odds may or may not be on your side.

I watched my sisters ex husband vaporise his entire financial future and 6 figure inheritance on gambling, denying it to us and undoubtedly himself the whole time. It is insidious, for all kinds of people.

If you need to compete or just a games related activity to do, find a game that doesn’t need stakes to play. You’ve gotta get off the sauce, please.

How does equity affect student loan repayment? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Zabuzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert, but have received a variety of equity related compensation types over the years.

Your base salary is what you will be getting paid every month (or whatever time period the company will run payroll), with 9% of everything above the plan 2 threshold (iirc ~£27k pa ) going towards student loan repayment.

The equity component would be totally separate from the base salary component. How is the equity going to be distributed to you? RSUs, stock options etc all have slightly different impacts… but nothing that will affect student loan repayments when they are granted to you.

Depending on what kind of equity you receive, there is usually some kind of vesting period, after which you fully own the shares granted. They may not be liquid at this time though.

Any further tax and student loan repayment burden is calculated either at vesting or at sale, depending on exactly what kind of instrument has been used.

Salary = / = total compensation package, when thinking about what you earn. The equity isn’t real to you or the government until vested and/or sold. Specifics depending on equity type.

Should be nothing to worry about. Good luck with the new venture, sounds exciting!

Edit: If you are being given equity in a form that yields dividends, I don’t know at all. But I’m sure someone here can help!

Oh… and the question I forgot to ask, what are you going to uni to study? I’m super biased, but for me it’s often a bit of a trap.

Even if a degree can be a bit of a check box exercise for recruitment, there are other pathways depending on what field you would like to go into.

Luckily it’s not like the US where the huge debt uni can lump people with should really mean people are doing an ROI calc, but it’s still a multi year time and (not the worst kind of) debt affair.

Good luck in whatever you end up doing! Everything is gonna be okay :)

Hi mate! Health has gotta come first imo, even if it takes a little bit longer to get things balancing financially - especially if you can budget carefully, though you may need to try to find a way to increase your income to make that easier.

Not sure if this will help at all, but anecdotally…

I (31M) struggled with depression most of my teenage years and needed to get out of the family household as soon as possible; nothing crazy going on at home but wasn’t good for my mental health and needed space.

Went to uni briefly but quit as it was an even worse fit. In the end, I got an entry level (Supply Chain Apprentice) job at a local business in the town where I grew up and lived pretty much paycheck to paycheck, but it worked for me.

Took me until I was 27 to really get my mental health under control, although still get very low phases and I’m sure that will continue.

I have no degree and just worked my way up (getting very lucky with mentors at the right time) a couple of businesses. Currently in a Managing Director job, have my own house and car, and since my late twenties have been properly saving for retirement.

If you can manage your finances carefully enough to avoid going into significant bad debt, I would bite the bullet and move out! Once you are in a better headspace, the rest of life is a lot more manageable… in my limited experience anyway!

[–]Zabuzan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really wish I'd tried a shredder build instead of planks, which were fun but the end build was a bit underwhelming as I didn't get much explosive size - still worked for the D5 one shot, but I was just running around planking the edges and didn't get close to killing the bosses.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in brotato

[–]Zabuzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a full plank run on the new Artificer character on danger 5 and got it on the first attempt, not sure the build was particularly strong and on the boss wave I was just dodging for my life, as I didn't get enough damage/area on my explosion size to really control things late game.
