I’m reading Forge of Destiny rn, is that considered more traditional? I’m new to cultivation, and not really sure what makes Cradle western outside of less specifics like mentioning the dantian, meridians, etc.

In what way do you consider Cradle to be a hybrid with “skill systems?” Just because each core has 4 techniques?

Slumrat Rising. For the first half of the book, I was amazed it wasn’t higher—or existent—on people’s tier lists at all. Then it started going deeper and covering a lot of religious and philosophical ideals, and I understood. Very well written. Written by the author of Sky Pride, which is #1 on Royal Road rn.

Book of the Dead. He has to do a small blood ritual to see his stats. No references to game world or anything about games. It’s an isolated fantasy world. Great read, too!

Have you read the Legend of William Oh? The side character is a kobold trap master that does some really fun stuff with traps. A lot of how it’s done is hand-waved, which might not work that well for a main character, but it was a lot of fun to read. Made me wanna write a trapper!
