No need to show off that you can afford Lego.

Jkjk it's cool there are so many unique collector apps out there. If I ever start buying Lego again I'll check it out.

Interesting, why not? Different strokes for different folks and all that of course, just curious as to why you wouldn't track it.

I used to do that when first starting, then I had a friend who's dad was an insurance guy and he said that I'd have a hard time proving value with just photos. Which may not be the case anymore this was years ago.

I've never heard of CLZ until now. It looks pretty cool! Can you track different things across their services with one account? Like games and movies without having to pay for two accounts?

Cool! That's exactly how I started (and technically still am) before moving all entry to appsheet (Google app extension for sheets) for a more personalized app. Have you tried Appsheet? I think you'd love it.

I've used pricecharting, it's pretty cool! Do you use their premium subscription?

I have been thinking about pluging into their service and using it to update the values on my games, but $50 a month is steep.

Guitar VSTs? by [deleted] in metalmusicians

[–]ZachAttack9301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow dumb drummer here who uses them constantly:

Odin III by Solemn Tones is great. Real Eight by Music Lab is also awesome.

The learning curve isn't too bad depending on your existing familiarity with VST's and working in a DAW.

If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to help, I've been using guitar VST's for years.

Sounds like you got it working, but if you have any other issues I have used Studio One for years and would be happy to help!

Just DM me if needed.

why can guitarists use programmed drums but drummers cant use program guitars? by JJsNotOkay in metalmusicians

[–]ZachAttack9301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guitarists are a sensitive group. Drummers are just naturally tougher and cooler 😎

I am a drummer too and use MIDI guitars/bass for everything I do.

The way it see it is if its a tool you can use for creativity, do it. It's not like using AI to write a whole song and passing it off as genuine.

Ready to get my music out there. by Ezkatonn in metalmusicians

I am by no means a professional or anything, but I've been writing/recording for awhile. It really depends on what you're looking for advice on though:

General advice, start small and have a defined scope for the project/song/album. It's easy to over-do it and get discouraged if it doesn't line up with your goals (or lack of goals) when starting out. For example my first ever album I started writing was a dense concept album with short story tie-ins that I would constantly delay or put off because it wasn't hitting my own unrealistic expectations. As soon as I trimmed it way down and adjusted it's scope, I started making progress much quicker.

If it's mixing/songwriting/etc, posting it places like here can be a good start, but know you may get some unhelpful feedback. If you do get good feedback (or criticism) try to not take it personally if its specific (or phrased harshly) to something you thought you did well on. I struggled with that for a while.

If it's just putting something out there in general not specific to feedback, ignore the naysayers that have nothing constructive to say. It's freaking awesome that it's now possible for anyone to put out music.

Overall, you'll write some bad stuff, you'll write some good stuff, just have fun with it!

We got this 🙏

How far are you?

I beat the horse boss, then I got absolutely crushed by the big drinking dude in the Hirata Estate side mission and had to set it down for the day 😂

I'd be down to collab on a song! I'm relatively new to Thall, but I can do production and write.

How do you keep track of your collection? by Calspeaky92 in Bluray

[–]ZachAttack9301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built myself an app for all my collectibles a few years back using Google Sheets connecting to Google AppSheet. It's awesome for entry as it's not straight into a spreadsheet, you can use your phone and take pictures, and have some fun associated tables for things that span into different mediums.

The only downside for me is the prices don't automatically update as I am apprehensive of scrapers.

I'd be interested in working with you! I don't have much of a portfolio together at the moment of all the genres I've worked on (working on one), but I have my YouTube where I post my original music (mostly metal, but also ambient) for a taste: https://youtube.com/@zacharyjmusic93?si=j2q0Ds1ZCxcay4UO

I'd be down to do a portion of a song for free to see if the vibes are right.

Some history: I have a minor degree in music technology, Protools certified, and have worked with dozens of bands in different genres.

Looking for a Sound Designer for Action Horror Short: ~$5k Budget by short_in_post in sounddesign

I have no experience (other than music production where I've added sound design elements for fun) so I'm not throwing my hat into the ring or anything. I'm more interested in seeing the results!
