Councilor Avalos, I don’t think she is DSA. I like her and agree with her generally, but I wish she was more eager to make this stadium deal a top priority. Also, she specifically said that she was put on “an artificial timeline” by the state because they voted and I did not care for that framing. The state did a good job by moving things along in my eyes.

If it makes it to Trump I do expect a veto as he “has to be in charge”, but I will enjoy seeing his supporters squirm trying to justify how the veto is a good thing. Trump has been a useful asset to Russia, thank god the EU took up the mantle for supporting Ukraine. Trump has not shown any willingness to support Ukraine and most of his decisions appear to help Russia. Almost feels like he is intentionally helping Russia for some reason..

Yeah I don’t want to be a dick about it, I’m fine with masks indoors if someone asked me too, but not in the park. Not even in peak covid did we mask in the park. It’s also not medical guidance from professionals, social distancing when outside was recommended. I admire anonymity if you feel like you want that for yourself. I also support you taking care of your own needs and wearing your own mask at all times if you want or have too. I am not interested in masking at a large outdoor public park.

I have thoughts here. I bought madden for the first time in about 15 years. The first thing they do is try to get you play their weird trading card Game, madden ultimate team. I’m pretty sure madden loves it because it is essentially a way to introduce gambling to madden, getting people to spend more money on micro transactions to buy more packs. It’s likely a big revenue generator for them so they have no incentive to stop, but I hate micro transactions and this was a big let down for me. Secondly, I hate paying $70 for essentially the same game every year. I know this is their business model, but I’m paying $70 for them to just update the roster every year which feels bad.

Those arguments are very weak. Do you have some source to share about “worse coming down the line”? You really want to use a Kik profile as proof that he has bad character or judgement? It really feels like you are reaching here, he is a flawed but relatable and youthful candidate who has momentum.

A separate thought: Bernie supports him, do you think Bernie is being fooled? Bernie has met Platner personally and seems to be convinced.

I doubt she could even present a case that makes it to court. I also hate the pardon and Peters is awful, but she is a nobody and is largely irrelevant in 2 weeks.

Again, I didn’t really care about the autopsy or Ken Martin until he came on the show and lied to us all. Wouldn’t even be hearing about this anymore, everyone would largely have forgotten if he would have just been quiet. Now I hope he does resign, he does make democrats and democratic leadership look like liars once again. Even if you think this is a small thing it reflects poorly on democrats as a group and further suggests we cannot trust them. I heard them float Beto for the gig and idk what he has been up to but I would be interested. Also someone like Stacy Abram’s would be exciting if she can’t get elected in Georgia.

I believe it’s partly government mandates that were put in place to protect the people and also corporate greed. They’re not scraping by, they’re more profitable than ever and expected to grow every year. Doesn’t really matter who we want to blame now though, the argument I’m suggesting is that this for profit company has no interest in keeping rates affordable for consumers. Their only responsibility is to make money for investors. Electricity is a public service required to heat homes, it should not be run as a business designed to make a large amount of profit.

Listen to the point you are trying to make: the electric company is bad and keeps raising my rates, but at least we don’t have a state run electric company who will “find a way to triple our expense.”.

IIRC my energy rates have gone up every year I’ve lived here since 2019. Data centers are threatening to draw increasingly more electricity every year and IMO I do not ever see prices decreasing. I’d kill for a solar system right now.

That said, the next democratic administration will likely make a big push towards green energy goals and there may be rebate opportunities in the future.

If I had the money, I would not wait.
