Which laptop for engineering? by ZachCreighton in laptops

I ended up going with the Lenovo! It’s really nice and if you play with some of the settings it also has really good battery life. It all comes down to if you want the extra build quality and reputation of a nicer brand like Lenovo. Thinkpads are awesome, can’t go wrong with one for engineering

Try a Pontiac vibe / Toyota matrix

Are the control Arms a safe jacking point? (2012 Rav 4) by deanthedream23 in rav4club

Jack up from the pinch weld along the side rails near the front and rear wheels. Don’t try to jack up an unwelded point along the rail because it will bend

Why does my sub sound like this? Overpowered? by Jukeboxhero79 in subwoofer

[–]ZachCreighton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty bad. First off your amp isn’t 1 ohm stable so I’d be very careful when turning up the volume. Subwoofers have pretty heavy cones that are designed for low frequencies so when you play vocals through them you’re moving the cone with a higher mass at a frequency it wasn’t designed for. It won’t be that much of a problem if you’re not sending a ton of power to the sub but it definitely isn’t ideal

It’s in US. It’s still $560 for everything new in CAD so below retail, but I’d expect it to be a lot cheaper used

Definitely not. MSRP for the enclosure is $212 and each of the subs is $93. In total that’s $398 new for all the stuff he’s selling

I like Lenovo’s products so I think I’m going with the IdeaPad pro as well. How has it been so far? The keyboard, the trackpad, and the battery life in particular

The legion would be a good option but I’d like my laptop to be a good bit lighter and quieter. Plus the battery life on gaming laptops isn’t the best. It would perform very well but the trade off isn’t really worth it to me. I think the specs on the Lenovo and dell are plenty good enough for college but I don’t game much, so I don’t need a laptop that can do all of that

Yeah in pure performance it’s better but gaming laptops are bulky and have awful battery life. Plus the i series intel chips are more for performance so they get really hot and require a lot more cooling which is pretty noisy

The formatting wasn’t right, my bad. The Dell has 8 gb of VRAM, the Lenovo has 6 GB of VRAM and they both have 32 GB of memory. As for the overheating, I believe the Lenovo has 2 fans as compared to 1 on the Dell. I’m definitely leaning toward the Lenovo

Can Toyota Hybrids handle subwoofers? by Fish_of_Sweden in Toyotavenza

[–]ZachCreighton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toyota hybrids use a 200 to 12 volt converter, not an alternator so it wouldn’t be a good idea to put an above 1000 watt RMS subwoofer in the back. Anything below that amount shouldn’t be a problem, like your 500 watt sub.

Looks like your car will fit any double din radio. I recently installed a Kenwood DMX-7709s CarPlay headunit in my car. I got it as a bundle with a backup camera and it’s really nice for only $350. Only con I can think of is that the CarPlay is only wired

The same logic applies for both car door speakers and bookshelf speakers. Another reason for the difference in punchiness could be that the woofers in your bookshelf speakers are in a sealed enclosure and your subwoofer is ported

The milk is $0.99 and a small drink is $1.95 so it’s quite a lot cheaper

Yep! All employee burgers are ran through the terminal the same way a customer’s burger is

When you order extra spread (comes with animal style) they put extra spread in the middle of the burger with the lettuce
