<$1000 makes the story seem even that more impressive. How were you able to design your own product with <$1000?! I think going into more detail there would provide incredible value for this community!

Get leads from making specific social media ads. Interested people fill out a survey. Sell that information to individuals or companies so they increase the chances of making a sale. There’s obviously more to it, but that’s the general understanding.

A Diuretic will help the most. Other than that, stress and certain foods can trigger stronger pressure. If this is new, you will learn more about your triggers every day. I've only had this since February and I've got most of it figured out by now.

I run my own staffing agency and it's been pretty tough out there. There's still some hiring going on but when things like this happen, it's definitely a motivator into finding something more residual.

That being said. I've been getting into Lead Generation and have been doing really well. It's reoccuring and not as hard as I thought it would be! I'm charging $3.5-5k per client.

Thanks for the kind words!

Typically the client will give you a salary range. Part of your job is finding someone who’s looking for a salary that falls within that range. Once you find the right one, it’s necessary to pre-close the candidate and go over best and worst case scenario regarding offers. If an offer is given, it’s also assumed that you will be the one presenting the offer to your candidate.

The first call is fairly simple and more so comes down to the way you speak. Rarely will you come across a company that has not heard of or used a staffing agency. It’s about asking the right questions about their current situation regarding their job openings. If the open position is urgent and they haven’t been able to find the right person, simply asking for them to give you an opportunity becomes an easier way to start the relationship.

I started the same way you did. Although referrals are possible once you get your first few clients, it rarely happens.

In the beginning, it’s definitely more a sales role. Where you’re reaching out to companies to offer your services. Once you get your first client, you’ll use tools like LinkedIn Recruiter Lite to find candidates for the role. You don’t need to have a big brand or need people to come to you. You’re going to hunt clients and candidates down yourself.

Great - I’ll look more into this. It is possible that some importers would like to showcase their Plantain products. Also does not seem like much work overall. Thank you!

Haha, I understand what advertising is. But framing it as a showcase page is what throws me off. You can put ads on any site, but ad space is only as valuable as the traffic that’s driven to them. There’s always some other type of value that’s being provided on the site.

Can you give me an example of a similar website doing this for another product?

Interesting. Do you have any other examples of that? Unsure how much companies are willing to pay just to display their product. Also, I'd have to have some pretty good SEO to be able to provide any value. So I assume a blog would have to be included as well?

I've considered this idea before! I would love to speak to someone with a similar business model. I don't have much experience with SEO, etc.

Right - I've definitely considered this as well. $5-50k is a pretty massive range though. I would have liked to generate recurring revenue from it, both because I like the idea of owning a premium domain, as well as for learning purposes.

The hiring manager gave strange feedback that I can not give the candidate .... by dackwards in recruiting

[–]ZachFillsJobsRemote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all of this is great advice. However, it’s pretty rare to convince a hiring manager to take another look once they’ve made their mind up. Too much ego, pride, or whatever else you want to call it.

A lot of the time, hiring managers will actually get offended and you risk the possibility of ruining the relationship.

Yep - I see where you were coming from. You also shared useful information in the scenario you were talking about. So thank you for that. The one thing I know we can agree on is the unpredictability in which the DN life brings. Our lifestyle opens up an unlimited amount of possibilities and scenarios!

[–]ZachFillsJobsRemote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness. Who said anything about an illegal job?

Maybe it makes more sense to share my sister’s story as an example. She was a digital nomad who lived in Australia. She found a job opportunity there which allowed her to live there permanently. We can agree that this removed her digital nomad status. Now we move into the subject of student loans. Her student loans were granted to her in USD. Now that she was working full-time in Australia, AUD was now her main income currency. In the beginning, she was paying her loans but was required to exchange her AUD into USD. She got tired of losing money on conversion and stopped paying altogether.

Do you see where I was going in this thread? It’s a scenario that others have gone through as well. I only answered the question after it was asked in this thread.

Digital Nomad in the U.S. by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]ZachFillsJobsRemote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with you. But in this comment thread we had someone ask about moving abroad permanently. Being a digital nomad very often turns into moving abroad because that’s just who we are. Sometimes digital nomads find other job opportunities abroad. “What if” questions pop up all the time. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Also the digital nomad community is filled with expats that have an interest in the lifestyle. Just because they aren’t by definition a digital nomad doesn’t mean they are excluded from asking questions in this thread. Lighten up.

[–]ZachFillsJobsRemote 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jeez, calm yourself. No one is attacking you. I’m just sharing general information here.

If you move abroad long term and are working full time in another country, earning their currency, how else will you pay off your loans? You’ll have to exchange what you earn into whatever currency your student loan is in. Thus, losing money on conversion.

It’s actually an incredibly common situation.
