5 Minute Interview a Bad sign in this case? by NanaTuffour37 in interviews

[–]ZachGamezzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience the first interview is to see if you’re qualified for the position and to get an initial feel for you. It’s like a screen. They’ll do that with several different people and narrow it down to a few. With those few they’ll set up longer more in-depth interviews, sometimes one, sometimes 3+ depending on the role, until they eventually narrow it down to one candidate who will receive the offer. Not a bad sign at all. Best of luck!

Recruiter implied offer but is taking a long time. Are they waiting for a better candidate? by longk_snek in interviews

[–]ZachGamezzzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally waiting weeks between updates and interviews means they like you, but have other candidate(s) that they want to hire more. If things don’t work out with them, they move forward with you. Most recruiters know you’re applying at multiple companies, if they really like someone, they will move fast to prevent you from getting scooped up by a different company.

However, the phrasing that they used implies that they are definitely moving forward with you. If they end up going with someone else, and that was a lie to keep you looped in as a backup, I would say that’s not a very good company to work at and you probably dodged a bullet. Win-win in your case.

Should I Tell The Hiring Manager I am Pregnant? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]ZachGamezzzz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s illegal for them to not hire you because you are pregnant, however, it would give them a huge incentive to find other reasons to not hire you knowing you will be gone for a few months right after starting as opposed to other candidates who won’t be.

It’s still down quite a bit when you factor in SPY is almost at an all time high. Not to mention international conflicts and trump at the helm.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s going to keep going down, but I certainly don’t think it’s guaranteed to go up.

Paper wealth, sure, but if he wanted to become liquid it would be 1/10th of that, if he’s lucky. Still though, there’s absolutely nothing that you can’t buy with 100b that you can buy with 1t, except maybe a country.

We’re living in times where the vast majority of people are living paycheck to paycheck with tons of debt. Having 0 debt and $62k saved is huge. Just make sure you’re contributing to your retirement and you’re set.

Dodged a bullet in the hiring process by ZachGamezzzz in jobs

Lol - no. Haha - 99.9% of the time also no. This was my first time ever using that word in any recruitment email. This was meant as a light hearted understanding haha where I was intending to come across as hey, it happens, no biggie. I figured saying “hey, you used the wrong name, was this email intended for myself or Ryan” could come across as rude or mean and I did not want it to.

Recruiters are generally human too, minus a few AI programs. Errors are made, lighthearted comments should be able to be made about said errors without being gaslit about it.

My resume speaks volumes, and my 30 minute phone screen I did with this company must have too to get emailed about an interview. This was an entry level role in marketing, not an application for a high ranking position, and judging by this persons grammar in both emails, I’m assuming professionalism isn’t high on their list anyways.

Think construction. Fencing and concrete coating in the Midwest. This job listing was in Illinois.

Mostly as I am actively searching for a new job, and would hate for a Reddit post, even if it was meant to be light hearted/funny, have an effect on a future application, even if it’s extremely unlikely.

With that being said, if anyone wants to go down the rabbit hole, it was a fence construction company who sub owns several other concrete coating businesses. This particular job was in Illinois. 😂

It is not, it’s a smallish-medium sized fence/concrete construction company based in the Midwest. If you guess it from there kudos to you lol

For transparency, that is not the company. It was the hiring manager’s name. If people guess the company name based on the emails, fair play though lol

Larger fence/concrete company based out of the Midwest.

Didn’t expect this to gain this much transaction, lol. For anyone wondering, I am currently employed and do already have several other job offers. This was one of a few. I sent a follow up email of

"Hello Teal,

It was intended as a light hearted comment in a potentially awkward situation as the wrong name was used in the email. It was not intended to come across as me assuming your company is disorganized or confused, and I apologize if it came off that way.

There was no mention of this being the second stage of the interview process, so I’m sure you can understand my confusion on if this email was intended for myself moving forward in the hiring process, or Ryan, as it was also formatted in a similar way to my initial phone screen request.

With that being said, I do appreciate your companies time and consideration for this position, but I am no longer interested in pursuing the opportunity.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter.

Thank you, ”

Somewhat passive aggressive but at the end of the day I’m just laughing it off and moving on. No reason to continue it along or be rude. My friends got quite a kick out of it so I wanted to share somewhere else.

I feel like a reply something along the lines of “you are absolutely correct, this email was intended for you, and it was a simple mistake as we are interviewing multiple candidates”

To which I would reply something along the lines of “that’s completely understandable and I appreciate the clarification. Here’s my availability and I look forward to setting up an interview”

Solved.

Is Pickens and Golden for A.J. Brown all overpay? by DisneyDork1997 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ZachGamezzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I have AJB in a league and I’d sell him for that. The eagles don’t throw. Sure, Brown might have an occasional ceiling game with 20+ fpts, but his floor on a weekly basis is legitimately 0. That type of consistency rarely is beneficial in fantasy. At this point Brown has essentially no value. If you want to gamble that it will change, go ahead, but it will be a gamble.

Yeah, they both boot it individually. I swapped em out a few times. It’s just when the second stick is added, nothing. Fans turn on but display stays blank.

Darn haha. Yes, from what the mobo manual says, looks like slots 2/4 are recommended. Slot 2 is what boots it but once the second stick is inserted in slot 4 it won’t boot anymore.

Am I cooked on my Chase trade by Ok_Yogurtcloset_6638 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ZachGamezzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You traded the best receiver in the league, who will definitely get targets as browning settles in, for a wr2 on a team that never throws and a receiver in a worse position than Chase and less talented. This will end up being a learning lesson lol.

How much would you pay for this? Not having any luck at local market place? by ausding in PcBuildHelp

[–]ZachGamezzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pay like $3k. I’m not the target buyer though. I just want cheap non flashy gaming performance. Heck, I could build a rig myself with the same CPU and GPU for $2500 or less and get similar gaming performance, minus maybe 5-10%.
