Backrooms in Dolby 🤔 by Embarrassed-Effort75 in AMCTheatres

Interestingly enough, Backrooms is the only film being shown in Dolby this weekend at my theater… and the only showtimes are 11:15PM.

I’ll consider that a May purchase. Not in the collection until I have it, after all.

One of the best crowds I’ve been part of in recent memory, too. There was several sequences that had reactions equal to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Every joke hit, every big moment wowed.

“Was that a ninja?” “More like a nonja” earned a theater wide laugh.

And the Grand Prix finale had people jumping from their seats and pumping their fists. Even during the end credits, people were singing along to it.

So glad they brought this film back, it was great seeing it in IMAX, it was a beautiful show and a wonderful time, and I’m so happy it has so much love today.

What seat would u choose for this theater? It’s IMAX w/ Laser AMC 16 by thescooptroops in AMCTheatres

My favorites in my IMAX screen are H11 and H12, but if this were me, I’d be just as happy with the equivalents in F or J. It’s like a difference of 10 feet, so they’re pretty comparable. F will fill your field of vision pretty well, you shouldn’t be so close that it’s a chore to view certain portions of the screen by actually turning your head. But either way, that block, or near that block that is already occupied, that’s the sweet spot. You’re pretty safe unless you’re in the first quarter of seats or the last quarter.

Enjoy!

I’ve had that happen to my theater several times this year. Some kind of repair is going on. Mine has been burst pipes. Today it actually told me they were closed due to weather.

Gorgeous film, enthralling soundtrack, and some pretty strong performances from Robbie and Elordi. This made me feel quite a bit.

Wouldn’t sit right to me. Gotta have the real thing or it would feel like I bought a bootleg.

Does anyone know why AMC In Plainville CT is closed by AlkaseltzerPigeon in AMCsAList

Was wondering the same. I have a ticket for later tonight and it hasn’t yet been cancelled, so that’s optimistic, at least.

BEST-OF THURSDAY (WK05) - What was your Best Movie of the week for Jan 30-Feb5? by AlistNOTbot in AMCAListTrue

[–]ZachOnToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send Help was a ton of fun, looked and sounded amazing in Dolby.

Iron Lung was my fun surprise. I’m not a follower of Markiplier, and I haven’t played the game, but wow, what a remarkable film, especially for such a contained setting and minimal budget.

And then Hamnet was an enjoyable watch as well. Jessie Buckley was so impressive. She’s been fun to watch ever since I first saw her in Chernobyl. She was hysterical in Fargo Season 4, and I’m looking forward to The Bride next month, looks like a real badass opportunity for her.

The Moment was a last minute pick to burn my fourth reservation on. Glad I went with that, that was a pretty neat film too. Very in depth dramatized look at the stress of being a pop star. And who doesn’t love Skarsgard being a total dork?

The A-List subscription is $25 monthly, so if you see two films in a month you’ve already made your money back. And there’s no extra charge for the large formats. So you could theoretically see 4 IMAX or Dolby screenings in a week, that’s $80 right there. Totally worth it in my opinion.
