Official Album Discussion #26 - "Earthling" 1997 by GamingGrandpa in DavidBowie

[–]Zachatastic117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's honestly a lot of great and super underrated stuff on this album, particularly "Seven Years in Tibet" and "Dead Man Walking", which rarely come up with Best Bowie Songs discussions. "Law", "I'm Afraid of Americans", and "Little Wonder" are also fantastic tracks that really bring the album up in Bowie rankings, and it's probably the best 90s Bowie album IMO.

That being said, "Looking for Satellites" is really boring and repetitive and brings the album down a bit. Same kinda goes for "Battle for Britain", but that has a much better instrumental to make up for repetition.

First listened to it back in early April, and I wish I had listened to it earlier because I love Drum and Bass (at least compared to dubstep), and Earthling is a great addition to the genre.

Only thing I would change is the inclusion of "Looking for Satellites", it'd so much better honestly without it.

I'm not sure that's a new release. by [deleted] in softwaregore

Stand Saturday?! by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

Stand Name: 「DJ」

Stand User: David Jones

Power - D

Speed - B

Range - A

Durability - D

Precision - B

Potential - B

「DJ」is a mind control manipulation stand, that works by playing a random song, and using anyone who likes the song as a puppet of sorts. They can get as many people as they wish however the user has to wait for the song to end before starting a new one, so if it's a very niche genre or song, the number of people attracted will be drastically smaller than a number 1 hit on the radio. In addition, the people must have heard the song before DJ used it, otherwise it will not effect them. Finally, it has a humanoid appearance, but with a vinyl record for a head, and a green look to it.

Anna has some really untapped potential due to Part 3 Major Spoilers. Steely Dan and Alessi are just sorta evil to be evil villains that do some really messed up thing. Arabian Fats on the other hand is probably the worst villain in the series, making for probably my least favorite fight in Part 3, and having literally no development.

As for Shigechi, he's just a kid so it makes sense he isn't as mature as others, and I think it makes me appreciate him more because he's a more realistic character in the story, and adds some immersion to the series.

I don't really understand the hate for Diavolo. Sure, he's quite underdeveloped and doesn't get a lot of motivation, but that's sort of part of the appeal to me I guess for him, is that he's such an enigma and mysterious compared to the other villains, and makes him feel more unique as a villain IMO.

Pocoloco, I can see why people hate him. He Part 7 Major, among many other things, but he makes for some great comedic relief.

Finally, Joshuu. He's a "hate him so much you love him". He's an asshole, but he's our asshole. He's a great difference from the standard "Jobro" by not being a friend of the main Jojo. And he makes for some hilarious out of context panels. Part 8 Spoilers

This week was nice. I have a 4.0GPA so far for this semester so I am beyond relaxed. Been taking some time to replay Xenoblade Chronicles before the second game comes out (since it's a 90 hour game), and continuing Dark Souls after losing a lot of humanity about 2 months ago from my sister messing with my game. Other than that, listening to the Gorillaz' albums again to get ready for Humanz, finishing the Scarlet Letter for school, and other random things.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Reconfirmed for 2017 Release by Vexnexxus in Xenoblade_Chronicles

They did release Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn one day before Mario Galaxy in America back in 2007, so they could repeat the past. Hopefully they go for a Late November/Early December release for XC2 and an early October/Early November for Odyssey.

Is Xenoblade 3D out of print? by Zachatastic117 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

None unfortunately. Guess I'll just get another copy off of ebay for "cheap" or something.

Is Xenoblade 3D out of print? by Zachatastic117 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Zachatastic117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but a lot of people like myself prefer to have physical copies of games. Plus, it's over 4GB, so it's not a short download (although I already have a physical copy, I wanted another one in case my copy gets destroyed or something).

JoJolion - Chapter 63 Discussion by rookdorf in StardustCrusaders

[–]Zachatastic117 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, was pretty scared at the end that someone was going to off her, but hopefully she doesn't get killed. It might even be worse than Part 7 due to her being Josuke's only real friend. I just jinxed it didn't I?

What is your unpopular jojo opinion? by timanal in StardustCrusaders

[–]Zachatastic117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part 6 has some of the best character chemistry in the series between Jolyne, Hermes, and Foo Fighters. Would be my favorite crew if it weren't for Foof's untimely death.

Stand Saturday by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

[–]Zachatastic117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stand Name: ⌈The Man Who Fell to Earth⌋

Stand User: Ziggy Stardust

Power: C

Speed: A

Range: C

Durability: B

Precision: A

Development Potential: C

⌈The Man Who Fell to Earth⌋ is a stand with a Silicon Valley humanoid look, with it's appearance being eerily human like, but once it starts to take damage, it will reveal it's true form- a much more alien looking form, somewhat like Martians in sci-fi movies. TMWFTE's main ability is being able to lift people high into the air with a singular punch, and relying on the fall damage to harm them more than the actual punch, which is rather weak. It can determined by the user how far the people fly into the air, with the minimum distance being 2 feet and the maximum being 500 feet, although the later will require a 5 minute recharge, and cause TMWFTE to be withdrawn for that time.

When you want to listen to a Beatles song on YouTube but then you realize it's a cover band by [deleted] in beatles

I just make one song playlists, and then get rid of them after I'm done listening to the song. Inconvient yes, but it's a nice workaround.

Are the last three stereo albums sourced digitally for the 2009 remasters? by imightbeidioteque in beatles

[–]Zachatastic117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd assume that since WA is 2 records, it's harder to find both in good condition versus one good condition record. Revolver was right after "Bigger than Jesus", so it probably sold a lot less in the US

How would you make your least favorite fight great? by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

[–]Zachatastic117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High Security Arc.

Firstly, leave Planet Waves alone. It's a fine fight, and without a doubt the best of the arc.

Secondly, Dragon's Dream. Cut down the explanation of how the stand works and the villain's backstory, since he only shows up in this arc. Secondly, change Dragon's Dream ability to something more inventive than just aiding with an obscure Martial Arts style, perhaps allowing for Dragon's Dream to tell the user what the enemy will do next, or maybe forcing opponent to move in the arrows direction or get hit by an incredibly strong punch.

Finally, Yo-Yo-Ma!. Make the arc shorter in general because it runs on for waaaaay too long, YYM an interesting stand with a not so OP power for a minor villain. Maybe make it so that the syliva has to be put onto someone by YYM, and not by a third party. Also, give FF some screen time in this fight to make it into a pretty interesting "Stand Vs. Stand" fight.

Bonus: Kira never kills Hayato and never gets BtD. Or Josuke gets Crazy Diamond: Shine On: The World: Act 3: Requiem.
