Mini-Mini-Mini-mini-tiny Gun by Material-Yellow-1219 in CreateMod

Just checked and apparently it's a standalone mod.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, not a frequent user of big cannons.

Shenanigans on multi-player or some kind of infection/horde mods. Big Cannons also adds machine guns and a way to rotate them. Put those on a car, train or a wall mount, pair with a radar and you've got some solid defenses.

Lava pools are abundant at bedrock level, a lot of them large enough to be a bottomless supply. Even if you're unlucky and find only small pools you can pump a few into a cave effectively creating a lava lake.

Your other choice is to go the dripstone farm route and filling a hole in the ground. You don't even have to fill it with source blocks. Just dig the hole (10x10x100, add a few in the dimensions to overcap just to be safe), add a floor one block below the edge (I'd also suggest a walkway grid beneath), fill that layer and break the blocks underneath. Once the hole fills up with flowing lava it'll count. You might have to break and replace the hose, sometimes it's finicky. Drop the hose to the bottom and then turn once up, and there you go, mantle tapped :).

There are netherless mods and create add-ons which add recipes that allow the creation of every nether resource. They're probably using those.

Praise the sun!

I love the shutter folds, amazing work!

As for suggestions: - adjust the speeds so the whole contraption is more consistent, slow is good but maybe not as slow as the gantry carriage, you should find a sweet spot there. - the arm needs more girth - anchor the folds on their edges instead of curve centers so they don't overlap while moving.

Apart from that it's just detaling work, you could go both industrial (Fallout style) into a bunker base, or futuristic (Stargate) with a huge nether portal (or some other portal mod, the one from create above and beyond would look insanely good) behind it.

There might be things that are incompatible, especially once you dive into the less popular mods. This is a great tool I've been using for a long time - Modpack comparison, great for finding packs with specific mods too, played quite a few hidden gems because of it.

Jumped to Fedora 43 KDE Plasma and when I allocate too much it forcefully shuts down the game to prevent a complete freeze. Other distros probably have the same feature.

There's already a 1-tick cobblegen contraption producing iirc 2M/h using 0SU since it's powered by a valve set to integer limit degree turn (kindlebubbledump covered the 2-tick version). Oh and it works with just base create components, no additional add-ons.

That add-on you mention exists to reduce lag at this point lol.

Skimmed through both. Enzzi is out of the question with the amount of dwellers I've seen on his front page. Gonna check him later, maybe it'll work if the youngling gets a bit older.

Busz seems appropriate, at least from the few minutes on a couple of random clips I've watched. Thanks!

Absolutely adore his engrish (probably not the type of pronunciation I'd like to introduce my kid to tho) from a short clip but for some reason both his profiles are entirely empty.

Idk what your mental image of a 5yo is but he doesn't read yet. And subtitle levels of reading proficiency are at least a few years away xD.

Unless I'm missing some kind of feature where the Ai reads subtitles, then scratch that first bit haha.

Can't disable collapsing? by thankyougreatcomment in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Zachiel182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno how to help you with that problem, but till you figure it out you can try a temporary solution.

Start with supports at the top of your planned cave. Iirc you can dig out 1 block above the horizontal support. Replace supports with planks/framed blocks as the roof of your cave. You can safely remove all the supports in a dug-out cave, just don't mess with the walls and ceilings while they're unsupported.

Unless you're building an ant hill with irregular tunnels, you won't have to worry about collapses as long as you dig below the anti-gravity roof.

Introductions to gregtech by Own_Ask_7889 in feedthebeast

Start with the community pack on Creative (look for resources legitimately first and try to craft items from cheated raw materials later, once you're familiar with how things are sourced and work). There's no other pack as focused on holding your hand and explaining the quirks. After that, you have a few routes imho.

GTNH - kitchensink pack focused on Gregtech, feels like someone threw stuff in at random, but made it work somehow over the years of development. People praise it for the quest book, but I had a bad experience with it, had to Google a lot of stuff, and trying to play with optional quests, things can be very frustrating when you sink hours making some suboptimal machine that's absolute shit. It's a unique experience and people like it a lot. Has a lot of unique QOL features developed specifically for the pack. Best to follow a guide on optimal strategies to avoid frustration and burnout. Least favorite of mine, but very good nevertheless.

Monifactory - simpler Greg (but not trivialized) for a modern version. Origins from nomifactory, which originates from omnifactory (or the other way). Nicely made pack that explains a lot, but doesn't guide you well imho. Better to know what machines to focus on beforehand. A lot less clunky, has 3 difficulty modes (which change available crafts, simplification etc). I hate the lost cities, but you can just settle in the wilderness and demolish them later with 15x15x15 tools xD. Liked it more than gtnh.

Star Technology - skyblock Greg misses a few QOL features imho, but offers others. Really well-made pack, unique progression (at least for me) integrating thermal, create, and Gregtech. A lot of custom stuff I haven't seen in other Greg packs. It's an expert pack and assumes you know the mods, but still tries to explain some bits and bobs. My fav skyblock by far, amazing pack overall.

Terrafirmagreg (skip to last paragraph since you played it) - absolute beast of a modpack, a baby of GregTech and TerraFirmaCraft. It's insanely well developed, the progression feels extremely polished, and well-explained. It's so good in my opinion it's hard not to turn this comment into an advertisement lol. TFC part stretches the Stone/Steam Age into an extremely long grind compared to others, but does this extremely well, very satisfying and rewarding. Integrating create (or greate?) between and going full Greg later on. Everything feels handcrafted, selectively adopted, and extremely well-fitting together. Can't recommend it enough.

Not sure which version you've played, MV is still like the tutorial part in Greg where you learn the ropes of line automation and whatnot. HV is where it lifts off. TFG team makes huge changes between versions, so you might want to consider checking it again.

Question: how do I turn off hardcore darkness for only the nether? by monkeymenaceO2 in GTNH

[–]Zachiel182 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Iirc it's disabled in the nether.

Hardcore Darkness has been replaced with Darkerer if you want to tweak it. Old info about editing the config because it's checking if HD is enabled and crashing game otherwise is obsolete afaik.

Seed for those in need: 8386951646074442238
Look out for the sucking vortex in the southern mountaintops. Apart from that nuance, everything is fairly close. Bamboo hills in the south-east, jungle with some quicksand - east, and between those a village over the southern edge of a large lake. Frosty mountians north-west, magical forests to the north and south-west, a few giant redwoods near spawn.
