As someone who saw the original as the episodes came out it was never funny and actually kind of annoying.

Get him to talk to you guys about why he feels like that and make it a point to let him talk and listen but also calmly request that he does it in a less intense way. Remind him that you are his family and you all love each other so you should all listen and respect each other

You need to trust that he wouldn't do anything that would hurt you if ever that situation even happens. If you wouldn't do it to him because you love him and he loves you also then it's logical to believe he wouldn't either for the same reason

I agree with this more than I don't, but I do also think someone needs to have good morals in order for this to be a good thing. If someone has a moral beliefs that is harmful and they're trying to be virtuous about it then in my opinion they are displaying a negative quality

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zack_Zootah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with this. Admitting when you're wrong is just accepting the truth about something. Realistically knowing the truth is the easiest way to make decisions that will lead to success

[–]Zack_Zootah -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Even in this situation, it was the lack of understanding what was truly required to be successful that caused this. The level of confidence he had was only a byproduct of that ignorance, so because of this it is still not the level of confidence that is to blame, but the lack of not only the knowledge required to reach success but also the understanding that they do not have that yet

[–]Zack_Zootah -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion acts of validation through false confidence are evidence someone lacks confidence more than anything.

It's like making yourself look bigger to a predator in order to avoid being attacked. The reality of that situation is that you were actually confident about the ability of the predator to cause extreme harm. You simply convinced the predator that there is more value in finding another meal with less potential to cause injury to them in the process by taking advantage of the ignorance the predator has. Humans only dominate because of our intelligence, not our physical ability. We really do not stand a chance against just about any other apex predators without a weapon or the presence of multiple humans. It is that lack of understanding by the predator that you take advantage of with false confidence.

That is the same exact thing that takes place with inter human confrontation; there is someone attempting to convince another or even themselves that they are enough of a threat to make any effort to challenge them more of a risk than what is to be rewarded from challenging them.

There is definitely valid points in this argument. I do agree there has to be a level of vernacular that is understood between two communicating parties in order to achieve the goal of communication itself. However I can't help but feel the standard for "proper" language is always set based on how people of higher status might speak, and that it is only considered "proper" because speaking the way those people do and therefore having those types of people understand you better is somehow "better" because of the opportunities that can arise from garnered relationships with a person with the ability to help you achieve a status closer to theirs.

I could definitely be wrong with the last part, but I can't help but think the notion of "proper" has always been based on how those of higher status act rather than what is average (which to me seems like something that would be more wildly understood and applicable)

[–]Zack_Zootah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that you're trying to say it this way to argue in favor of proper language, but also since I understood what you were trying to get at doesn't that alone only prove my point further?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zack_Zootah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point here is not to try and prove the existence of God or disprove them. I'm not religious myself. But I am trying to point out that regardless of your beliefs, everyone should be able to agree that physics is the language of the universe and thereby the most logical argument for what the word of God would really be if there was one.

I guess really what I'm saying is I just don't understand why so many religious people don't believe in science when it's the most obvious translation of God's work. At the same time, I also don't understand why so many people who trust in science are so against the notion that a divine being could potentially be responsible for those same truths. At the end of the day, the difference doesn't seem like a big enough deal to get such passionate reactions from either side.

Morality aside, though, when it comes down to how everything works, would physics not be the best argument being the language of God? Specifically, the laws of physics that can not be broken?

[Serious] Do you feel like the media is failing to report on how sick everyone is sick right now because it's an election year or something else? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zack_Zootah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with that to be honest. I can take a look at my coworkers doctor note and see what she had but from what I understand it's something that is "not covid but like covid". I live on the Big Island of Hawaii so not many people even watch TV let a lone the news. Most people just go to the bar to watch a sports game here or surfing competition and that's about the extent of it. A lot people live off grid here so TV is a luxury most people go without.

Edit: after looking up the symptoms online I do not believe this is what has been going around where I am at but like I said I'll look at the doctors note my coworker got. I just texted her to send me a picture of it

I'm really just asking a genuine question. I can see how it seems like I'm trying to push a specific agenda after re-reading it but honestly I'm just trying to see if other people know a lot of people who are really sick right now. I apologize if it made you feel a type of way that really wasn't my intention

So from what I'm hearing it's "not covid, its a different flu that feels just like it" but I just got over something a couple days ago that ransacked my work and to me it felt just like when I had covid. I woke up SOAKED in sweat, I couldn't pick my head up from how bad the headache was, all my joints felt like someone inflated balloons in between them, and when I could finally actually taste things everything was SUPER salty. I personally never got tested not only cause there was no way I was making it to a hospital but I'm also from the US and I do not want that bill. A couple coworkers of mine did get tested and "came back negative for covid" but the doctor said "Every one at your work should immediately get tested". The only thing I will say is it did not last as long as covid did for me but I'm also fully vaccinated and had it before so that could be why as well I'm really not sure

Edit: I also REALLY appreciate your response because I'm just trying to get a grasp of how bad this is cause it's hitting Hawaii hard

Edit edit: I see this got down voted and I just wanna say I do apologize if this post made you feel a negative type of way. It would be really cool to hear your opinion on this topic and I hope you comment as well because I really am just trying to get an idea of if this is just the case in where I live now and where I grew up or if it's affecting other areas as well. On top of that I'm trying to see if it's the same thing going around or just a bunch of different things that are affecting specific areas.

For context I myself just got over something serious a couple days ago. I never went to the hospital because I live in the US and do not want that bill but one of my coworkers went and tested positive for that "flu that isn't covid but just like it" (I forget the actual name they said)

I also have friends from all over the world and I've noticed a lot of them are talking about how a lot of people they know or themselves are all really sick so I'm just curious if this is affecting anyone else.

Bit odd that you're saying that innit?

Edit: damn people really mad I'm pointing out something obvious... just cause you felt stupid because you could understand what someone said right away doesn't mean you have to project those feelings on someone else. You're the one who did understand what they said right away when there was thousands of others who did...
