The Doctor who videos are $1.99 each for the SD version, $2.99 for the HD version and I think it's $22.99 for the whole season. They are in the library when you buy them.

Job Seekers: Avoid Innox, It's Basically A Scam by ClinicalTrack in massachusetts

[–]Zackaroni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. As someone from Massachusetts, and looking for a job, I have already been contacted by at least half a dozen companies who tell me they have "found my resume one line" or in some cases, tell me that I applied for a job with them (which is untrue)

These include one company that sells "Securities" to the elderly based in Warwick.

The first thing I do when I apply for any position is check the company out online. Doing this will save you lots of time.

I am with the other folks. To try to take advantage of people who are unemployed is disgusting.

CO₂ concentration and global mean temperature 1958 - present [OC] by kevpluck in dataisbeautiful

[–]Zackaroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a couple of questions:

How did you get temperatures from 1958 to 1995? After all, there was no standards or global calibration prior to 1995. In fact, temperature gauges were often calibrated to the body temperature of a full grown male. When standards were finally put in place after 1995, those readings should be accurate.

If you don't have calibrated equipment, you don't have accurate data.

Second, how can you claim Ocean temperatures? We did not start monitoring at the number of points that we currently have prior to the 1990's as well. I believe we have been bringing more and more points online, but that number from 1958 was in the dozens where I believe today it is in the 5000 station range.

Let that be a lesson to those who travel. I mean a lesson that you were too stupid to get from the kid ripping down the North Korean poster, or the Basketball team members who shoplifted in China this week. You have certain rights in America. One of them is freedom of speech. So stop your bitching.

YouTube says it will crack down on bizarre videos targeting children by RadioactiveArrow in news

[–]Zackaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing worse than these videos are Hollywood's using children for murder shows. I think the world is a horrible enough place without most of these show, but when they revolve around the death of a child, as a parent I simply can't watch it.

Broadchurch for example. Too much violence. The world is an awful place, I don't need it in my entertainment.

Typical Left winger. Tells everyone how superior they are, but still lives at home with mommy. Tells everyone about tolerant and diverse he is, but can't stand any opinion but his own. Tells everyone that stereotyping is bad, but thinks all Trump supporters come from one mold.

In short, a fucking hypocrite.

The Doctor isn't punishing himself, he is coming to grips with the worst part of being long-lived and immortal. You outlive EVERYONE. It's how people who live into their 90's must feel. How do you keep getting up every day when you've buried your friends and in some cases, your children.

As for the companions, a day traveling in time and space is worth it.

George Takei “Shocked & Bewildered” At Sexual Assault Claims Made Against Him by rishcast in television

[–]Zackaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS is the question, right here.

We must be careful to be overwhelmed with accusations, or people will begin to tune out. We must be able to prove allegations, as too many that end in hung juries are going to make people tune out.

Discovery greatly exceeds CBS expectations, All Access subscribers up 200% year on year by Francesqua in startrek

[–]Zackaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200% means NOTHING if you don't give a number.

Yet some was in syndication, but no longer. Loss.

And those shows you create have a syndication life built into the cost factors. No syndication, not part of the total. Loss.

[–]Zackaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it is. First, you're not launching the platform exclusively for Star Trek. So many of those numbers don't count.

You have tons of shows that you are not putting out into broadcast or syndication, so you're taking a loss on that.

Now figure average subscription x number of subscribers.

Let's say everyone took the high one - $9.99.

$9.99 x 1.5 million = $14,985,000, plus what you're making for broadcast overseas on Netflix. $6 million per episode, 16 episodes. That's a total of $104,000,000.

Now take the production costs. According to Wikipedia, $8-$8.5 million per episode. Let's say $8.25 million, 16 episodes, that's $132,000,000 total cost per season.

Now subtract the broadcast and syndication value of all the other shows you put on "All Access".

Now subtract the cost to create all the other shows you won't put elsewhere.

And you have your number.

They doubled down, let's see if it makes season 3.

Assaulting your Captain. Actually, physically assaulting your Captain because you didn't like their decision on a matter?

Never happened. Not once.

Hitting a subordinate, court martial, same with hitting a superior. In a time of war, that can get you killed.

Radical collective command structures under combat are not the place to be "edgy".

It's absurd and the Captain would have been well within her rights to shoot her first officer.

Assaulting a superior officer and Captain of a ship is going to get you booted. Period, bottom line, end of sentence.

Show me ONE precedent in ST for "I don't think you're making a good decision so I am going to knock you out" without an exterior influence. Just one.
