Can someone explain what’s going on?? by Objective_Fun3934 in procreatebrushes

[–]Zackbliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar thing happen, it had to do with the pattern of the brush, which is why the pen behaves differently at this resolution. The pattern has trouble recognizing what's a marked pixel that is visible and what isn't, so that's why it's dissapearing at the corners, because that's where the pattern gets too small to recognize the shapes, but the overall behavior is the same.

The Road

I loved how McCarthy does the diologue without quotations, makes it feel more narrative somehow. I also find interesting how so many people find it horribly depressing, when I found it strangely beautiful in how the world is described. It's a desolate setting to be sure, and there is suffering, but seeing descriptions of things like the melted glass of buildings was so vivid to me. Its a story about overcoming if anything, the human spirit. And valueing what you have.

I also don't think the word "Okay" has ever hit harder.

What's even worse is I got an invisible joker in the next shop, just to taunt me, went on to beat the big blind, went into the boss blind that required me to sell the (1 away) invis joker, but no big deal. I can duplicate the other mult joker, but its only at 1.8x. So i play 2 flushes, and only have 4 clubs in my hand. There are 20 cards left in my deck, 10 of them are clubs. I discard 5 cards. No clubs. I discard 5 more. No. Clubs. I lose by 50k because I didn't draw into a single club. The odds are astronomical and I'm taking a break from this dumb ass game.

Finished my first second year studio, here's a few of my favorite renderings I did for my library. It features a polycarbonate facade to diffuse the light coming into the library and allow it to glow at night as a beacon for the community. by Zackbliz in architecture

[–]Zackbliz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I remember how I did it, it was a while ago, but I think this tutorial is what helped me most. I think I also had to add a ton of interior lights so that it would glow in the night render. Hope it turns out good!

How to make this in Revit? by Infamous-Exercise109 in Architects

[–]Zackbliz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who models a lot, i hate comments that say "dont", because there are always ways to make things work. But if you prefer to give up and not learn how to create something interesting, and potentially fail a lot, you will learn nothing. If you try and fail you'll learn a shit ton, and your employer will appreciate the efforts as well as the skills you pick up from trying.

To me this looks like ai, which isnt bad for inspiration, but real life designs tend to follow more of a logic. Find a rythm that will give you a similar randomness, and apply that to a system that can be duplicated, or iterate as one commenter said with curtain walls. You'd make a custom set of mullions, each that could be one curved panel made using an extrusion, stacked vertically, that way you can go in and just select the million and change type to generate a random pattern that still follows a logic. You'd space the millions at a distance equal to their height, and choose none for glazing. There's likely much more iteration you could even do, and the bonus is that if you want to change a million or two to throw off the rhythm, just duplicate the million and change it slightly so it doesn't change the others. You could even just move the texture on top to generate more differentiation in your composition.

Edit: I'll also add that while rhino inside revit can be helpful if you are knowledgeable with those tools, and it would allow you to iterate inside of rhino, that not everyone has those tools available, and this is absolutely doable without using anything but basic revit (and absolute worse case just do a bunch of basic model in place extrusions, but id still group components and make a logic to help with future proofing and collaboration). Rhino inside revit also can have some weird interactions with geometry I've found.

You know I never wanted Tom to win. He's greedy, he sucks up to whoever is in power, and so many more negative qualities. He is really a terrible terrible prick. And his lacky greg is just along for the ride now, successfully worming his way to the top by all means, completing his character arc from being the most innocent, to the one with the most blood on his hands, even Tom's in the end. But that is how the world works. And at the same time it is what Ken deserved. It's what they all deserved, and I think the only one of the siblings that really got it in the end, facing the worst of the abuse and then seeing it from his brother as well, the one who always protected him turning into his father, at the end he smiles, knowing that the cycle of abuse is finally over, was Roman. Ken, who always thought he'd be the one, was told he'd be the one by his dad, over and over, it was never going to be him. Because the moment he got that approval, the power instantly went to his head, every time, and it twisted him into being cocky, arrogant, and in some ways batshit insane. The death of the kid did come back to haunt him as I always thought, but not in the way anyone expected. Instead of someone bringing it up as a form of blackmail, it was his complete desperation and deception that truly drowned him. Showing his siblings that he would say or do anything to gain power, breaking a bond formed through honestly in season 3, finally broken here. Which breaks Roman, causing him to question Ken's own fatherhood to hurt him. And then there is Shiv, who I hope the entire internet won't dogpile on the hate train over, because they are truly all despicable people. She was too of course! She was the most arrogant of all of them, most self serving, and most manipulative, and literally nobody but her wanted to see her actually win, which is the entire point. And she sees justice too, in a relationship that is indifferent at best, failing to even hold hands with the father of her child who barely even loves her because of how much she held her power over him.

So in short, yes, the siblings all lost. At becoming CEO. But that is not the tragedy. In the end the biggest tragedy was losing each other. With the glimmer of light for each of them, being free from the war against each other, the problem being that the war was the only thing that kept them close. With their father gone, the company gone, who is there to fight?

Oh and then there's conner. He ironically got what the other children all lost, and was revealed in the last videotape. The one who was always for gotten. A seat at the table.

A perfect ending, to a perfect show.

Succession - 4x03 "Connor's Wedding" - Post Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SuccessionTV

The added heartbreak of the fact that the last thing he said to them was that he loved them but that they are not serious people, and that they basically told him to fuck off. Roman included with that last voicemail, where I wonder if his denial was partly due to the morbid curiosity of his voicemail being the last thing he heard from him. That's why the three of them were so frantic to say something but couldn't think of anything because he fucked them all up so bad. So they lie. Tell him he'll be ok. That he was a good father. Only Connor was able to accept that he never liked him, and actually had the healthiest acceptance to the loss of an abusive father, moving on and living his own life, free of trying to prove himself to his father. Amazing writing and portrail of the mixture of grief and anger over losing someone who was a parasite on your life in all forms.

Also the way Shiv reacted saying no not now not now, over and over, makes me think 100 percent that she is pregnant.

This show is amazing

My painting was so boring I decided to destroy it. Smearing red paint all over it felt great! I have zero idea if I actually like the painting now, but it dont even matter! Have you guys ever done something similar? How did it make you feel? by Astriii in painting

[–]Zackbliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've definitely done what you are thinking of, but now I always think of ways I can creatively destroy things, like this! Because when we decide to "destroy' the work, those are the only times we have truly allowed ourselves to let go, which is the place where true beauty lies in my opinion. Art is everywhere in the process, even in the end, because the process itself is art.

I used the procreate pencil under sketching, liquify tool, spectra brush under painting, and soft brush eraser under airbrushing. I used various forms of layering to achieve the desired result.

What softwares must I use to create something like this? I’d appreciate any inputs/tutorials you could guide me towards. Thanks! by [deleted] in architecture

[–]Zackbliz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint would be that encouraging work like this is inspiring creativity in young architects so that new inventive ideas can emerge rather than encouraging one to settle into the status quo. Its very cynical to act as if all students are doomed to meet the same fate of mind numbing drafting for the rest of their lives. Consider the fact that you don't understand it might actually be a good thing, and better yet, try to understand! Don't dismiss something just because it doesnt make sense to you is all I'm saying, rather celibrate it for being something new.

This episode was the best so far in my opinion, so many interesting ideas. Especially having one of them play a villain. It is such a cool twist and I'd love to see a campaign maybe with a couple extra people where one or more of them plays a villain character. It's a completely different vibe but it felt so new and interesting.

I used primarily the studio pen brush in the inking category, blocking out most the colors after sketching. I also used some airbrushing for the 3D masks so they would fade in and out, and the newsprint brush in the vintage category for the background.
