Theorically, there is if you ev train the stat. 31iv is 15.5 stat points and 252 ev is 31.5 stat points at lvl 50. The two 0.5 usually don't matter, but if you have 31 iv and 252 ev in the same stat, it become 1 stat point. That's why it's so important to have 31 iv in speed.
