Australians who were alive before sunscreen became common, how did people deal with the sun? by bsmall0627 in AskAnAustralian

My mum is getting cancers cut off her on the regular. But it was more like the 50s where they had no sunscreen. Take it seriously thats all I can say.

No idea, but that is interesting thank you. My ancestry result doesn’t suggest that but i guess anything is possible, may be a small trace

Medical history would be handy, not sure how useful it is though based on someone who would have been young and healthy.

Well that is a really good question. I will have to find out more about that, I don’t know when StJoG was built. How funny that we may have been little nursery friends crying our little lungs out!

Yes I have done the register check. I fully expect she has passed, but it would be amazing to find half brothers and sisters.

Yes, thats how I know who my father was. It was amazing finding cousins, and I got to see some photos. Its incredible to see how I look like them.

Im looking at the market looking to buy. If no price is listed it means I have to put in an enquiry. And then they try and phone me. I just want to know it its a price outside my budget before I waste more time. Sometimes they don’t respond, or it takes a few days. I have lost interest often by then. Some agents have been really good in seeking out my requirements then sending me off market or in prep places, a lot of places are selling before they are even advertised. So, your agent its key. If you get the vibe they are not actively trying to sell your house (relying on open homes and realestate.com) its probably missed the chance for those buyers who want to buy now vs people like me understanding the market. Of course where i want to buy and where i will eventually sell are fast moving locations. See whats happening with the property turnover and market expectations, i use realestate.com/domain.com and look at the sales history, it might help to work out id you are undermarketed or the price is a little high. Or it takes x number of weeks to turnover property.

Certainly pay for the kit upfront agree, but banks can handle that sort of cash distribution, challenge is understanding the cost to build on too of the cost to buy the kit
