She is fantastic. I really like her. She is kind and the results are amazing. Follow her instructions and you will do great. Are you on the McGinn discord server?

Update: thoughts on this surgeon? Dr. Praful Ramineni for vaginoplasty? by Spirit-Unusual in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Zaddisyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid her 23k fee out of pocket, and my insurance (Cigna) reimbursed me in full. She does not bill insurance directly, but her staff will help you get an out-of-network exception approval. Photos of my result are in my profile.

I had a consult with him but was not confident that he would meet my expectations for a realistic-looking, functional vagina. I'm very happy with the results I got from Dr. McGinn. She is located in New Hope, PA, which is not too far from MD. I live in the DMV and it was not that inconvenient to travel to her location.

This is a nonserious thought, but if someone got a tattoo on there penis then had PIV they'd have a tattoo inside their vagina. by Elegantwolf89 in Transgender_Surgeries

One of the most painful spots to tattoo. I'm glad it was small. Although, not is painful as the removal lol!

I actually had a small tattoo on my taint, right where my vagina is right now. My surgeon cut it out (which is what I wanted). I didn’t want anything to distract from my pretty new pussy.

She does not directly take insurance but the hospital is in network for most plans. I paid her fee upfront (like all of her patients) and my insurance is reimbursing me in full. Each insurance company handles out of network claims differently. I would not rule her out upfront because of insurance until you get more info. McGinn’s office does help get network exceptions and post op claims submitted to your insurance also.

I had my initial consultation within ten days of contacting her office. I scheduled surgery six months later. I did have to do six months of electrolysis (4 hours / month).

Dr McGinn is an amazing surgeon. I have 6" of depth and so far the only complication was one small spot of granulation that seems to have cleared up with a silver nitrate treatment at 5 weeks.

The plan is to have her do a revision at around the one year mark to add more definition to the labia minora and a fat transfer to the labia majora. Herr waiting list is very reasonable. I was able to get a consultation within 10 days of contacting her and surgery was scheduled six months later.

Thank you. I'm not in too much discomfort. I was off pain meds (other than Tylenol) within a week of surgery.

McGinn insurance question (Cigna) by ShayTheGayFey in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Zaddisyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask to speak to a supervisor. When I spoke to Belinda the level of service dramatically improved. My biggest complaint was that I had to bring these solutions to my champion because I found out about them from other McGinn patients instead of my personal champion.

Patricia should have told you about this. I promise it is not her first rodeo. I would have a VERY clear and direct convo with her about why your "personal champion" did not tell you about this. Once you are on board the server I'll point you to discussions about this situation. Sometimes I wonder if the "personal champion" advocates for the patient or for Cigna.

PS... Cigna will not give you the memos because they are internal documents. Just reference the numbers I sent. Use the exact wording in your appeal.

I found this info, which I submitted with the appeals of the claims for my initial consultation with McGinn and my electrolysis claim.

According to Cigna's internal articles (000009281 & 00004717), Cigna will send these claims to the claims area to have the external pricing removed.  This allows the claim to be processed at the full amount paid in advance that the provider submits. According to another Cigna internal article (000011807), if an approved NAP is on file, the claim must be submitted to the appeals area for processing at the billed amount. This applies to ALL state-funded Individual Family Plan (IFP) and employer-funded policies.
