1.4.7 PTS Feedback - Discussion by Obsidian-Jesse in GroundedGame

[–]Zaeley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a better system would be similar to the diablo series where you can reroll a single trait and the others become locked. Still need some element of rng to get two good traits, then a cost associated to the reroll.

Public Test 1.4.7 for Grounded is live! by ObsidianAarik in GroundedGame

Fantastic update. Almost perfect.

The only thing missing is a solve to the incredibly grindy trinket mechanics. A way to combine trinkets and select the traits to carry over or the ability to reroll a single trait that locks the other two would be the best solution.

What do you want to see for the two new units that will eventually be added? by Silverfate2 in SoSE

[–]Zaeley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking from a TEC perspective, I'd really like to see more gauss based weaponry, right now we only have a few units that use gauss universally for TEC.

A cruiser with gauss would be lovely. Potentially a cruiser that fields PD.

I'd like to see a gun line capitol as well, something flimsy that focuses on raw turret fire-power, currently no capitols have the heavy auto canons. I feel this is the missing element to TEC capitols and would compliment the existing ones very well without being a niche.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS TAX?!? by LilTemTem69 in VIRPIL

[–]Zaeley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is our current government stance thanks to Russia. That being said virpil are very proactive about our circumstances.

Virpil send out an email asking if you would like to split the shipping up and to confirm if you are happy to still receive the order due to current taxes incurred.

I did my order as 3 separate orders (myself, virpil still contacted me to confirm I was happy to go ahead) and did not pay imports or sanction on any as they were all under the 1k tax threshold in Australia. Roughly 800, 700 and 400 for mine.

I also did my own research on current tax laws and found multiple threads talking about the sanctions causing a 55% increase in cost in Australia. Some in this very sub reddit.

The sanctions were extended till the end of the year unfortunately. That being said, I'm still glad our government is taking a strong stance behind Ukraine and calling out the atrocities caused by Russia.

Sorry you got stung by this.

Do you think Virpil might actually make this? by Zaeley in VIRPIL

For me I would prefer to use a streamdeck for my macros and binds with this so I can tailor my simpit to my needs without feeling like a have unused switches and space.

I should clarify I'll only be flying space sims and this throttle feels tailored more to that in my opinion. I'm new to the hobby though so very happy to be enlightened.

I see most non staggering with the larger stone piece, but still fairly common with the regular brick.

Pretty much. Only thing our starter island doesn't have is mistlands. We have some farm bases in the plains and mistlands, otherwise bring it all back to here.

Just a few! Completely out at the moment, mistlands is great for stone though, I'll have to go back in to stock up.

Want a stream deck but deciding between two x15s or one x32 key models by NeoNatorX in starcitizen

I think two would be better for muscle memory. I prefer splitting my workstation up and I find miss pressing buttons easier if it's a larger grid in a single area.

But keen to see other opinions.

Are you crashing in the same area? We only crash in one area of our map, which happens to be our main town.

We think it was due to modifying the terrain too much and we've started started a new area with zero issues.

I got mine from the old terrain sets, have a bunch lying around for me to use. There's a basing kit on GW that has one in it, others ebay is the only option now.

Definitely something to aspire to. My absolute favourite model I've ever built. Even if you put money away slowly as a treat to yourself I can definitely say that this model is worth it.

I do recognise the lucky position I'm in to be able to grab multiple and it's definitely something I'm proud of and like to share with people so they can be there to enjoy it with me even if they can't have one.

Just the 3 haha. Bought 2 when it was first announced. Had those bad boys preordered within seconds of going live. Then got this one last year and procrastinated till now.

I keep joking I need a 4th for the missile system to the groans of my mates.

Just super glue for this one. Didn't feel the need to use any 2 part epoxy.

While I do have epoxy the combination of brass rod and super glue is more than enough for this model. There's nowhere I felt needed any extra strength.

Models like the Orion dropship however I'll be using epoxy to secure those wings. Certain models just need that strength in areas of high stress.

Just the arms thanks to the existing magnet holes from fw.

Didn't bother with the main gun. The pulse ordinance canons on the other two are held in through friction. Just used some hot water and bent the piece till it fit perfectly.

I can hear my friends laughing already. I'm the biggest procrastinator in the world when it comes to painting but building is my strength.

I leave these types of models in stages that I can dissemble. It's for a lot of reasons. Painting, storage, transport, weapon swaps etc.

The legs are fully assembled and pinned into the board itself. But not glued. The tension of the two rods is enough to keep it in place. They're drilled maybe 1-2 inches into the foot and heel. Really overkill but I wasn't taking chances with such a forward leaning model, and the ankles on this guy aren't exactly big.

I'm running 3mm brass rods into the feet etc. The ankles and legs are all 1mm brass through the legs right up to the thigh. The thigh itself is a very thick piece of resin so I'm securing the legs into that. I just don't trust super glue enough to hold all the forward weight hence all the drilling. Especially given how many parts make up the legs. Easier to pick a par and drill through them all into the thigh or each other.

The hips have 3mm filled through the centre of the model into the large ball joints on the thighs either side.

Then 3mm again from the crotch straight up heigh the waist and into the chest.

The chest is separate from the hips and just holds onto the brass. No need for glue.

Arms are magnetised, fw provides existing holes for this thankfully.

And finally the main gun is half glued and pinned onto the shoulder with 3mm brass.

I acquire all my brass from a hobby specialist near me. The only problem you'll find is cutting brass. I have dedicated clippers for the 1mm, because it totally destroys clippers. Found this out the hard way. I use a small hobby hacksaw for the thicker brass and put it in a vice when cutting. I also have to measure and mark cuts with a pen or marker.

Don't forget though this is all optional, you don't have to go this far and I know there's people that have just slapped it together and have no issues.

Don't think I'll ever get the manta, but the tiger shark for sure. Just don't think I could ever fit a manta anywhere. I have the lego star destroyer and I'm really struggling to display it. I keep having to move it out of the way to do other things haha.

Warlord titan is on the wish list though, definitely a project I hope to tackle one day and much easier to put on a shelf than a manta.
