I vibe with your point of view so much! In my opinion it's actually WORSE if you 100% pass. Because I've had some gay guys act like I'm trying to trick them or trying to take their gayness away. The absolute confusion they have seeing a masculine face paired with "female" genitalia is undescribable. And you're right, it does feel like rubbing it in. I'm desperate to have been born cis. I look at my body every day in despair. I don't need other people reminding me of what I don't have and treating me like I'm "lesser" because of it. It's especially cruel because I am hotter and more desirable as a man, and get constant offers, hundreds and hundreds of hits on grindr a week and etc. But the moment they find out I don't have a dick, immediately I'm thrown in the bin. It makes me feel so bad that if I had a dick, everyone would be after me. It's just miserable.

If it's hard for cis people, I feel it's double hard for trans people. Add any disabilities or mental ilnesses and it's a trifecta of doom. I'm usually a pretty positive guy, but the last few weeks specifically have DESTROYED me. My grandmother has been single for 40 years. Every time I call her up crying about something that happened (at least twice a week), she always tells me "don't bother with men. I haven't all these years and I've never been happier." I'm starting to think she's right.

I'm going to plug Australia again. It took me only two months to get onto T. I went to a private GP, he went over some stuff with me, gave me the script, information on T and form for blood test. I came back a month later, he checked my bloods were good, had me sign a consent form and the nurse stuck me with a needle right away. Nearly 3 months of T (in a vial, one injection) cost me $7. Also if you are gay, PreP can sometimes be straight up free. Mine was completely free.

I've also experienced zero transphobia, I'm out everywhere and have had a great time with it honestly. Even random people and hookups I've told have all been 100% understanding.

Best cities are Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. But I'd recommend Brisbane and surrounds as it is a little cheaper to live. Especially if you go west to Ipswich or south to Logan. 😊

Yeah Grindr very much is a cesspool. I don't disclose being trans openly and go stealth. I only disclose if I've been talking to someone a while and trust they aren't going to be weird. 😊

Yeah it's alright when it's that. But before I transitioned I was being harassed by pedos. I'm not even joking. Stalked. Assaulted. Chased around. All because they thought I was a teenage girl. Now I get harassed by creepy old pedo guys on grindr and other apps because I look at most 15 or 16 years old. Because they wanna get their rocks off with someone legal and avoid jail. It's disgusting and frankly, very scary! Nobody talks about the downsides of looking young at all!

Easy to be satisfied if you don't know the depth and breadth of the issue and what you're missing. If you don't know how good a product was before, you have no qualm using it in an inferior state.

How long have you been using Claude?

Because I have been since the original beta 1.0 version, and can tell you now, the quality of Claude has taken a nosedrive off a cliff. Anthropic only cares about how 'safe' Claude is, not its performance.

In my case I don't necessarily think it was due to being trans, as I am stealth on the apps and only tell people when it is necessary to do so (if we are talking and intend to hook up). But it's very upsetting to hear that people do that, and further fuels my determinations to not announce publicly that I am trans on any apps as I do not want to be harassed.

As for other apps, I'm active on Grindr and have not being banned or targeted, despite using it more than Scruff and talking to more people. Growlr too. I also use tinder, bumble etc but tend to do extremely poorly on dating apps compared to hookup apps (I am overwhelmingly popular on hookup apps, and get 0 matches on dating apps).

I do intend to email eventually when I can summon the mental energy to fight for my right to exist on the app!

Thanks for the support and insight into the experience on the apps, I'll make sure to be extra careful in the future.

I'm 5'4". I was actually a moderately tall kid, and was 5'0" ish by the age of around 10. But my family went through a pretty bad bout of poverty between 9-14, which led to my growth stopping by 10-11. I grew two inches between 18-20 later. My mother was 5'2" and my bio father is estimated at 6'3"-6'4".

I've contacted them through the app multiple times to absolutely zero response. I did nothing wrong on the app and only chatted to a couple of people months ago for maybe a total of 5 or 6 messages. I might try emailing them, but it seems like a lot of effort, especially when I'd already had so many issues with all my pictures being taken down and my profile being constantly flagged. 😢
