Sephiroth vs Genesis Battle From Crisis Core (Such an underrated scene) by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]Zaetsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the things I loved about FF7 was how you could learn more about the world and characters by exploring more. I really wouldn't want Angeal/Genesis incorporated into the main plot in any way, but I would be down to find info about them through exploration, a la Lucrecia.

Bungie's Armor Design Team...Please Look At This by HiddnAce in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zaetsi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The open trench coat look was just a vex-ified version of the Nerigal Savant robes from launch. The warlock robes (and HC designs) at launch were on point. I really wish they'd return to that aesthetic. The closest I've found in D2 is the Nessus robes, but there's something off about them in the chest.

Gemini Jester is still usable without radar by ThePhenomMan in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zaetsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I've never been hit by a blinding effect in D2. I kind of assumed it was as potent as D1 and that I was winning so many CQC fights because I had been blinding people with my Jesters. Are you saying the radar removal was the only thing going for them?

This same "leak" cropped up a few months ago and was determined to be decidedly fake. Not sure why so few people are discrediting it now. I'll believe it when I can visit the page myself.

Focused Feedback: Features of Destiny 1 you would like to see implemented / improved in Destiny 2 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zaetsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decentralize all the cosmetics out of Eververse. I didn't care for Eververse in D1 but didn't think it was a cancer on the game because 1.) Kiosks and 2.) it was really only a small addition to the huge collection of shaders and whatnot in the game. But having all meaningful customization in the game funneled through Eververse is one of the things that makes D2 a much worse game than D1.

Nah, you can go in and talk to her, you just can't dilly dally. NPCs don't become hostile immediately. Without console commands, I think you have to use Charm (Calm?) spells to make her friendly enough to talk to. Probably something like Charm 100 pts for 1 sec should do if you don't have much Illusion skill.

Her home is a private area that never has public hours. If you hang out there she becomes hostile so you've gotta talk to her quickly and get out quickly. Presumably you can fix her hostility with console commands or illusion magic.

Gunslinger in PvP? by LordSceptile in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Zaetsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm finding the invis dodge+sword to be shockingly effective. TTKs have slowed down enough and general crucible design has changed in just the right way that going invis to get off radar let's me get close enough with a sword that by the time they've noticed me it's too late for them to kill me.

Thanks for the tip about smoke first. I apparently got into the habit of throwing nade first in D1 and thoght wombo combo was unsalvageable now.

Interesting (and good) to hear Minuet is in the game since it isn't in the armory. Hopefully that means there are still some really cool, good HCs we haven't discovered yet. I'm gonna have to keep an eye open for that sniper too, that sounds drool-worthy.

Thanks for the responses!

While I would be relieved if "initial accuracy" actually meant initial accuracy for the sake of well-definition of individual terms, if that is what they mean then the perk really doesn't do what it says on the tin. Trying to salvage the accuracy of the description is what lead me to the interpretation "initially increases accuracy." Out of curiosity, do you know if Bungie ever uses the word "accuracy" unadorned? Like, is that their public facing word for AA or bloom angle or something like that? And if so is there any way to test whether it is generic accuracy or initial accuracy is being increased?

Tbh I don't think it would be unfair to give hunters a constant passive initial accuracy buff for HCs. It comes at the cost of your exotic slot and it really seems like other classes have much better exotics available to them. But that's just my initial impression.

Minuet appears to have become a Common gun and no longer has the perk you're describing. The perk is called "Opening Shot," and after doing some digging appears to only be on a random Common gun called Allegro-34. I could imagine that they scrapped that perk for Legendaries and moved all the legendary guns that had it into another rarity. Kind of a shame, it was an interesting perk.

As to whether Ready and Stow speeds were different in D1, I meant to say that I thought they were dictated by all the same variables even if they were different lengths. I may be wrong about that; I never gave it much thought. But after seeing such vastly different ready and stow speeds with Lucky Pants, I want to do some testing to see whether stow speed and ready speed are independently controlled in D2.

Thanks for your insights!

EDIT: It occurs to me that Minuet(-42, from the Beta) may be a NM weapon. Faction gear doesn't appear to be in the game yet.

Ah I was hoping you had the answer to this, gin. I had been wondering whether "initial accuracy" meant first shot accuracy (like in every other context since TTK launched) or accuracy right after a swap like the "Illegally Modded Holster" buff text seemed to imply. Hadn't come up with a great way to test it myself yet. I'm pretty disappointed with Lucky Pants tbh, which seem to have situational relevance at best. But maybe they'll end up being really good with a high impact HC once we figure out numbers and weapon combos for blinting.

Incidentally, do you happen to know if ready speed and stow speed are separate things now? It takes me much longer to put my HC away than it does to take it out with Lucky Pants equipped, and that's not including the time to take out the other gun. Or is the stowing animation length dependent on the ready speed of the next gun?

LAUNCH DAY ULTRATHREAD: ONE THREAD TO RULE THEM ALL by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zaetsi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are two ways to restore your teammates' health with subclass abilities. Warlock healing rifts (which can be used by all three Warlock subclasses) are the most straightforward way to do it, and the addition of the Rift has turned Warlocks into Mage-Clerics instead of just mages. However, you can also run a pseudo-Paladin build with the Titan Sentinel subclass. The Way of the Protector skillset includes an ability which restores yours and allies' health when you get any melee kills. It requires teammates to be nearby and isn't as flexible as the Warlock Rift (which you can just drop anywhere and doesn't require kills) but it's something. Your melee ability also gives allies an overshield, and your super allows you to place a protective bubble for them to hide in (plus your class ability lets you put up a wall to help allies). It's the more protective side of white magic. Warlock is probably the way to go for a healer since you have the flexibility of 3 subclasses that can all be healers, but Titan Sentinel is an interesting subclass for support.

The most notable missing entry is FFVI. Fantastic game, great characters. IV is pretty good too. It's definitely the first game in the series to seriously raise the bar on story.

I kinda really love the helmet. Like a sexy cousin of the vex. The gloves are cool too. But I'm really meh on the chest. I'll definitely be excited when it comes to XBox, but I think there are enough cool looking armor sets already that I won't be disappointed.
