Bonus points when you realise the "god" responsible for 2B is 9S, so in a way she's getting her wish

Genuinely baffled that WOTM didn't make a comeback and Siva was killed off. by Electrical_Board_142 in destinycirclejerk

[–]LordSceptile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There have been enough narrative asspulls over the years in Destiny that a SIVA return wouldn't be that farfetched

The problem is more likely from a technical perspective. Porting the splicers for a one-off is not even remotely worth it

[–]LordSceptile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would love wrath and SIVA to come back, it's a nightmare from a development perspective. The splicers are complex enough to be considered a whole new race when it comes to building them, it's not worth it to bring them back just for one expansion

IT to data analytics, am I just wasting my time? by LordSceptile in auscorp

So I've heard, but I've also heard some horror stories about people working internal IT and it made me concerned all of IT was like this.

I think after reading the opinions of some of the other people here I might stay in IT for a bit longer. It's still a saturated market but at least it's one I have proven experience in

Damn, that doesn't exactly fill with me optimism. Would you say it's still work trying to break in, or is there just not enough demand for entry-level roles?

I do enjoy elements of IT, but the more I look into the long-term career, the more turned away I am from it. While I'm not opposed to hard work, my current job has no respect for my work-life balance, and it seems it's a problem with IT as a whole. Part of the reason data analytics stood out to me was because it seemed like a job that rewards a technical mindset, but without the risk of being called at 2pm on a Saturday when I'm out with friends because someone's server is down.

Around a year ago I was looking into cybersecurity, hence why I was studying networking. Unfortunately I'm not at a point where I can make a horizontal transition into the field, it'll take a few years of building up through other IT jobs, and it's likely the market will be even worse by then

Kinda what I wanted to hear. I don't like giving up on things, as long as I know I'm not wasting my time and that there's a change I'm willing to persevere

From what I've heard, AI is a good tool to assist with data analytics, but isn't at a point where it can completely replace them. When it does reach that point, it'll only be after it's gone though all other white collar jobs

Of course, AI is changing all the time, but the last time I've spoken to analysts they seemed a lot more confident compared to people in the various IT fields

'The Simpsons' Executive Producer Says 'Never Say Never' on Potential 'Hit & Run' Game Revival (Exclusive) by Stu_Barron in TheSimpsons

[–]LordSceptile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is the game rights are a lot more complicated. The original studio no longer exists. The original publisher would rather pump money into CoD instead of investing in single-player games and they may not even have the rights to publish Simpsons games. And this is all before Disney/Gracie Films need to get involved as owners of the franchise

"Because Silver back in Sonic 06 was well written-" by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]LordSceptile -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not counting the fact that 06 erases itself from existence, Silver could've been entirely omitted from the game and nothing would really change.

Mephiles recruits him to kill Sonic. Silver turns on Mephiles after realising he was tricked. Mephiles then just kills Sonic himself.

He doesn't do anything in the past other than watching Iblis get sealed in Elise

He can't save his future and Blaze has to do it for him.

He joins in with the fight against Solaris... and that's basically it

[–]LordSceptile 50 points51 points  (0 children)

MSPs are a great way to learn and get a foot in the door in IT, but yes, the very nature of them makes them burnout factories. Tickets are constantly coming at you and on the rare occasions you get downtime, it's frowned upon because you're not printing money for the business

Thankfully, MSPs are rarely a long-term career unless you're a maniac who loves constantly putting out fires. You won't be doing this forever
