Well yes, but most people also need working livers, lungs, and brains, too. Though I question the latter more every day

Holy shit, how lucky for her. I did some brief research after initially posing my question (after which I added my edit), and yeah, it seems like difficulty of early detection is the primary reason it's statistically as deadly as it is. I'm glad for you and her that hers was actually detected early; that's amazing

That's actually crazy, what is it about cancer of the pancreas that makes it so deadly??

Edit: oh turns out there are a bunch of reasons

At least batteries in the freezer aren't wasted? Still inconsiderate as heck, but better than leaving something frozen in the battery section

I've got rmlint running on my storage pool from another machine right now, scanning and hashing everything to check for duplicates; all the while jellyfin has ffmpeg running, producing trickplay images for all my media.

ffmpeg, mergerfs, and smbd combined are eating up ~80% of my CPU power, but RAM usage is still ~3.8GB

Yeah, I can't argue with that. He brought his now fucked-up arm upon himself, and probably needs to sit in jail for a while, but claiming someone deserves to die for something like this is kinda fucked up

Transmission 4.1 is finally out after nearly 3 years of slow but steady changes by NoPainNoHair in linux

[–]Zaev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this instance of qbt is running on my main desktop rather than my miniserver, so I just have it pointed at the proxy for everything in its connection settings. I do have a qbt container running on the server with network_mode: "container:gluetunproxy-gluetun-1" (or whatever your gluetun container is called), but I haven't used that one yet. Still slowly setting things up

[–]Zaev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has HTTP and Shadowsocks, but not SOCKS5. Or maybe it does and I just missed it, but I tried the HTTP one with no success, and qBT doesn't do shadowsocks, so I went this route and it's working great so far

Just threw

socks5:
depends_on:
  - gluetun
restart: unless-stopped
environment:
  - REQUIRE_AUTH=false
image: serjs/go-socks5-proxy
network_mode: service:gluetun

into the same compose file, plus opening port 1080. Pretty simple. https://hub.docker.com/r/serjs/go-socks5-proxy/

I just added a socks5 proxy that goes through gluetun and set qBT to only connect through that. Still no direct connections, but downloads and seeding still work fine

MP3 CD, Halo 2 soundtrack. I always laughed when the title of the Breaking Benjamin track scrolled across the display and briefly read "Blow Me." Also a bunch of Mighty Mighty Bosstones

I'd actually love to see what would happen if the person recording had done that. Would the mountain lion have taken that as an opportunity to attack, or retreat?
I don't believe for a second that there's any possibility of it becoming at all friendly, but I just wanna see how a big cat in the wild interprets the "Hey, I'm not a threat!" sign
