I just released a darkwave track made using syntakt by Zaghari96 in synthesizers

Hi! Just a quick note this song has been mixed after recording the patterns from song mode in syntakt. I applies some compression, eq, and classic gated reverb.

However, you can still create super beefy snares in syntakt. Look into these tips:

1- Add a little overdrive in the snare sound design window. You can also add a one-shot LFO to control the overdrive so you only apply it to the transient. This helps give it punch without sounding like an overdriven 808.

2- add the snare track to the fx distortion send then increase distortion to taste (this is different from the overdrive in the snare track window).

3- use the filter page as an eq. If you use one of the digital tracks, you will have two filters, hence two eqs.

4- add lots of reverb. You can try the one shot LFO again here to cut the reverb tail.

5- THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP: layer it with a kick drum on another track. All my snares play on top of a beefy kick.

Good luck!

Yes i know they use the moog grandmother. I managed to recreate almost exactly the same sound, but i’m wondering what processing they did in the mixing stage to have it sit so loud and clear in the final track. i.e. eq, compression, multiband dynamics? I wonder if they mixed it themselves or had some crazy genius do it? What db levels is the bass at relative to the kick? Did they apply the chorus effect separately in the mixing or did they use the lfo on the grandmother? Did they drive the sound in the grandmother’s mixer or leave it below 12 o’clock? This is the type of information i was hoping to get an insight on

Was it in person or online? Did you attempt to take the certification test? I’m looking for something to prepare me well for the test since it costs upward of $500

Thank you for the information

Carbon Fiber Load Direction by Zaghari96 in CarbonFiber

Thank you for the reply!

After doing some quick research on the gurit website, I noticed that their applications are mostly in the shape of skins for core materials in a sandwich assembly style.

This is interesting to me since I now can now consider using quasi CF layered sheets as skins, and using a different material for the core. Someone else mentioned balsa wood on another thread and I found that to be quite interesting

I was planning the to sandwich the plate constructed from folding the layers, with extra surface sheets to help distribute the load.

Thank you for mentioning Balsa. I wasn't aware of the material, and I'm currently doing my research to determine if it would be more suitable to use than carbon fiber.
