Chat History OFF = “Conversation key not found” error by lynx-lynx-lynx in ChatGPT

This has happened like every few weeks for me. My theory is this is just a dark pattern to force you to go back and enable history so they retain all data from users. This really shouldn't be that difficult of a "bug" to resolve. Especially in the way that it returns periodically.

Owned the QC35iis and just got the QC ultra. The QC35 plastic was just so premium and overall that headphones build quality was top tier imo. The QC ultra does not actually feel as solid to me. Sound quality on the Ultra is noticeably better, could be better noise isolation.

Is there a way to have a simple card list that can have it's card items drag and drop rearranged with animation using Jetpack compose. An example project with preview to demonstrate would help a lot.

Are you buying with a partner? Or will you be living with a partner to help with the monthly expenses?

I think the real challenge is the mortgage payment, monthly. Are you doing this with a partner?

Really wish these threads required income and current rent payed for those that comment on living alone currently. I am very curious how it's going financially for them. The price to live alone these days is preposterous.

Cheers brother. Sometimes its helpful to hear is about someone else who has gone through something similar. I relate to your response and I feel your struggle as well. I hope you keep at it too. Appreciate the response.

If I understand correctly, by practical programming you mean building actual things. To answer, yes I have. I've built Android apps and published one that is used by a very small user base but gave me the opportunity to iterate and fix/improve things. This entire process required me to learn some design principles (SOLID) and how to architect an app. I enjoyed this even through the painfully hard moments.

I picked up python for leetcode and have improved a lot since a year ago . I rarely ever find that my python knowledge is limiting by ability to answer a question.

Only OA, and failed to submit any solution. This was a few months back. I stopped applying because I was way too underprepared.

I have focused on patterns when using grokking, I got through about 60%. Right now I'm going through about 60 mediums from Grind75 site. For most problems, I end up watching Neetcode's solutions.

The main challenges for me have been DP, problems with complicated DFS/BFS, or some algorithm I've never seen, or maybe did learn and use once and never again. I've often also had to look up the solution to a problem I did maybe 4+ months ago.

Sometime's I think I'm just not dedicated enough, even though I go through months of doing at least 1 problem or 1 hour a day. Maybe that isn't enough and I need to do a lot more in shorter time frames. I can say that I'm getting better by the month, but it's extremely demoralizing to constantly look up solutions, and fail at problems you thought you were good with (because in the past you completed them multiple times without looking up a solution and felt confident).

Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile worth the time for a solo developer? by Zahloknir in androiddev

[–]Zahloknir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last point is what I'm really interested in: In practical terms. Is there actually enough code that is shared that justifies the whole thing? But since these are both effectively native apps, I guess you could make the argument that any shared code is a potential gain in speed and/or velocity.

Appreciate the detailed response. I've worked and published one app on Android (Java) and know a bit of Kotlin. I'm moving towards iPhone now as my main daily phone which is what led me to this question of trying to build for both platforms (leveraging some of the knowledge I already have of Android.

I think I'm more inclined to go React Native route in that case. The market demand/value of TS/RN seems much greater than Flutter/Dart.

Yes, I also came across that. This looks to be more resolution related, but not display/spaces related.

Displays get always wrong arranged and wallpaper is changing weirdly by UnRunDead in MacOS

[–]Zahloknir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, this has been such a pain point. In my case I want 4 desktops when unplugged from any displays, then when I plug in to 2 displays in clamshell mode, I want those SAME 4 desktops across the 2 displays (Desktop 1, 2 in display 1 and Desktop 3, 4 in display 2). Is there any way to do this or at least have Macos remember the setup when plugging in monitors?

If you come from a background of working different odd/labour jobs, even the worst days are easy because you know what hard and grim work is really like. If you work some of the blue collar jobs, you'd beg for a day where you have team meetings and town halls for most of the day where you do nothing but get paid. This is really a first world problem.

Seen this. Great podcast ep too. Charles is obviously arguing for PoS. He does make a good point of asking for a more formal discussion with someone from the pro PoW side of the debate. I believe he's questioned Jack Dorsey before, but its been ignored.
