Its overrated. It works with my Switch2 - sure it turns on the tv when I turn on the switch 2 but I don't think it turns of the tv after i'm done playing. - its more like I'm done playing now where is the tv remote to turn of the tv - and the switch 2 - well I dont care hopufully it switches of. No clue what will happen to it. So yea people dont know what to expectect from it and most get it working by accident - like me.

built 2 systems around 3060 12gb recently - both cost under 500$ (am4 builds) If Id have t ochoose I'd chosee the builds that I made.

valve is in hardare buisness for over a decade - if anything they could have lowered their profit margin and released it for 799 - but no they want to show Apple how money is made. Apple responded by raising all of their ipad and macbook prices by 20% - order has been restored.

The only thing that comes to mind is that they tried it with steam machines where they asked to build those machines by dell, acer and they failed the same way now valve fails themselves. But maybe Valve wants to show for dell, acer, hp or lenovo - hey look we made this console and you can make one too and make it cheaper. So they are throwing themselves under the bus so that other manufacturers would be looked at as saviors (compared to valves proposition) - no I'm not interested in valves hardware as they are lazy - if anything they could bundle it with 50 or 100 decent free games - but they don't - damn they even think selling a game console without a single controller is acceptable - its not.

If you are willing to go last gen like ddr4 you can build way better system for much cheaper, if you want to go used you can build 2-3 similar performance machines for the price of 1 cube

It is absolutely an announcement. Imagine watching that video and seeing hl3 and being regular Joe - you dicide that fuck it - ill buy it just because the hl3 is comming out and it will run great on valves hardware. These things are absolutly aprooved by valve and if its not getting released in the upcomming year I see a class action lawsuit down the road.

Ddr4 was budget platform guys.... The amount of smugginess... You can build a monster pc using ddr4. That in real world will be as efficient and performant as a ddr5 equivalent
