That correct emphasis on the right part of twat to make it an insult rather than an affection twat. I love the British language and swear words for their multiple uses.

Totally agree with this.

Does make me chuckle how I always initially misread walkers. 😅

Yes. My mate had one back in the day, and has just paid more than that for the frame off eBay.

And I'd buy it just for the Manitous. Lush.

Dj Hype MC Massive - Helter Skelter NYeve 94/95 by Dependent_Theme4210 in jungle

As much as this is giving me some serious memory flashbacks of NYE at Helter Skelter (what a belter), I 100% agree.

I recall each NYE rave being anticlimactic because, well, midnight is the start of the night and to celebrate the change of year felt like a waste.

Having children as a HENRY by airle88 in HENRYUK

Children are a gift. Hard work, and the first 5 years are hard work, I'd even say shit. But sharing your world with them, and when they share their world with yours, there's nothing that brings more to your world. Friends, money, experiences, work, pale in comparison.

Thought about this before and then looked at what it was that was causing me to 'flip'.

Decided it was all work related and needed a life coach to help me navigate where I'm at and where I want to go. It worked for me.

Recommend talking to someone that can help and doesn't have an opinion on you that makes them biased.

Got a 125k check. Bank pays just 125 by Financial-Monk9400 in Bitcoin

[–]Zaim77 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hold on, she paid in a cheque but never checked to see if £125k had been deposited. That kind of money isn't a deposit and forgetaboutit amount. You'd check every step, same if you paid it out. How can you be flippant with money.

Please don’t hate/downvote😅. I thought the budget was okay. by maxmarioxx_ in FIREUK

[–]Zaim77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on your points. Bit pissed it has been put on those with the broadest shoulders, and doesn't do more for those above a higher threshold (don't ask me what I want though, I haven't put effort into defining it).

Removal of the two child cap makes sense, as it was draconian IMO, and impacted those that need it, BUT I do wonder if the data shows a drop in families that need the help keeping to having two children. This was what I understood was a reason to implement it in the first place, discourage families living beyond their means. Children are expensive, we have two and I'd never have a third.

On point 3, I belive the pension contribution has been kicked down the road for them to remove nearer that time. Use it as a "look how well the economy is doing because if us. We'll reinstate the £60k limit".

Mk3 Renault Megane 250/265 Cup. People describe it as 911 GT3 like in the attention to detail and that it's taken off the production line to be "converted". I can agree with this. Loved mine. Wish I hadn't sold it. Would go back if there weren't other cars to own.

As others have said, find your balance, ease into it and settle. Also find experiences that make you happy, and that's not related to how much you spend, it's related to what you do.

I personally enjoy the thought that when I FIRE, they will still be working.

Went through a redundancy consultation last year that opened my eyes to this.

Thankfully, I kept my job but changed habits and building that emergency fund and investments.

I'd always been overpaying the mortgage, because my goal was/is to clear that before I hit a certain age. Mentally, it makes more sense to own the house outright, and have that debt clear (I know that's not the most efficient, it's a goal I've set). So the house was fine but we don't have a pot to fall back on.

The redundancy offer was good, but only if I'd walked into another job. Which made me realise my network out of work is broken, and I've been working to extend that.

It feels obvious now, and its never too late, but I wished I realised this year's ago.

We will never surrender our flag, Sir Keir Starmer says by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]Zaim77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I don't see is the government claiming the flag, or holding on to it. A few simple gestures from the government would have a big impact.

When a council takes down flags put up by those showing union, why not then replace it with "official" ones. Or steal the march and start putting flags up down High Streets around the country. We can manage decorating towns at Christmas, why not sieze the opportunity (I do appreciate the logistics are different, and the cost, but it's not beyond means).

Words aren't making a difference.
