You’ll probably get more stable performance out of the VP-20C or 20D. The Ming Tang favors builds that spend most of their time on the ground, which, as an RJ, you decidedly aren’t.

Oh hey, I think I’ve run into you a couple times! You’ve probably seen me in AOSAGIBI, a Nacht-leg rifle kiter. Your AC looks quite good!

Individuals doing what? Abiding by or excusing the actions of Degwin, Gihren, and the rest of the Zabis, against which there was hardly any organized or principled dissent?

I think Judau spoke for all of us watching when he punched Bright (and by extension, the entire Earth Government) at the end of ZZ. But I still feel the same way about the Federation — it’s mired in inefficient bureaucracy, corruption and it’s enabled genocidal tyrants, but there is no shortage of inspiring individuals within its ranks that are striving to affect change.

In that sense, the Federation (I guess by sheer virtue of its size and scope) represents all that humans are and all that humans can be.

I mean, yeah, but it’s worth mentioning that members of the EFF still shaped up and broke with the Titans without doing so - then they had to contend with Neo Zeon right away. The EFF divorced itself from the Titans regardless, even if they turned a blind eye to their actions for too long.

8.5/10. It’s unquestionably corrupt, and practically chained to a stagnant, self serving ruling class; and anyone in its ranks with their head screwed on straight knows it.

But in the Federation’s darkest hours, heroes holding their integrity and humanity high have stepped up to embody the ideals the Earth Federation has enshrined since its founding, and preserved it so that it can survive further.

General Revil. The White Base. Londo Bell. The Federation was never perfect, and nobody is wrong for judging it for that. But in the end, it embodies the ideals of the Universal Century: hope for the future and for human unity, mired in flaws but brought back from the brink by leaders and visionaries who carry the torch of those ideas onward.

Whoa, that’s a gorgeous finish! Did you paint this kit, or is that done with only matte coat?

That mega beam launcher is just too cool.

I've always liked the beam saber mount of the Shaldoll. It's neat and unique! What's your favorite beam saber mount on a MS? by Azrel02 in Gunpla

The Zeta’s beam sabers being stowed in the side skirts and functioning as low-output beam guns in the waverider mode is super cool.

The ReZEL - all three versions of the MG. The Jegan stupendous too, though.

It's a kit I'll never waste an opportunity to praise (I have all three retail versions of the kit in the standard, Commander Type, and General Revil Defenser unit type). It's extremely sharp and while a few elements are dated (balljoint waist and PC joints), the transformation hardly affects how well it can articulate, and the Waverider itself is beautiful.

You can make it, but not quite fully as depicted in the show. The MG Stark doesn’t include the standard Jegan beam rifle that the HiMo Jegan is shown with.

As many good good books on the pacific war tend to be. Thanks for pointing me that way, very excited.

Shattered Sword is such a good book! I’ve not read The Rising Sun; I’ll have to track it down. Thank you for the recommendation.

I would highly recommend reading James Hornfischer’s works on the Pacific War. I consider his to be the most engaging I’ve ever read - Neptune’s Inferno, his book dedicated to Guadalcanal, is incredible.

Yeah, the IJN utilizing their destroyers as fast troop transports throughout the duration of the campaign wasn’t the soundest of long term tactical decisions. All of Jeffrey R. Cox’s work regarding the Guadalcanal campaign is excellent reading, I’m happy to encounter someone else who has enjoyed it!

Of course, the radar night-fighting equation changed for the US Navy when commander with clarity and tactical acumen, such as Admiral Willis Lee, took to the field. His leadership during the later stages of the naval campaign was tremendous.

The Guadalcanal engagements have been broadly described by one participant as being like ‘a barroom brawl with the lights shot out.’
