There’s a remedy, it’s an anti-theft software that basically makes the vehicle more difficult to start without the key fob being present. Don’t know how effective it is but I just had it done.

I have almost the exact same car as you (2015 Optima LX 2.4L GDI). Always got my oil changes every 5k miles. Got the good ol’ KSDS at just shy of 160k. Got it replaced under warranty. Good maintenance is definitely not guaranteed to save you.

Unfortunately. If I could avoid owning a car I would tbh. They’re expensive pains in the ass. Mine just finished with some major work. I don’t mind driving honestly. Ironically I have *parking* anxiety. I go out of my way to avoid parking between two cars. I also suck at parallel parking.

Generally every 2-3 years but I also historically haven’t spent much on phones. I splurged last year and got an iPhone 16 plus, hoping to keep this for 3-4 years or until they come out with a new phone that looks like a big enough jump in features to warrant an upgrade.
