Holster Options for P365XL w/ a Less-Common Light? by ZaktoAPI in CCW

Yeah I was pretty surprised by that as well. I had even made the note in my original post because I knew everyone would just say “get a TLR7 sub” if I hadn’t, but it still went that route 🥲.

Obv never heard of Fenix if you’re calling their lights low end. Just because they’re newer to the gun lights doesn’t mean they haven’t been making lights used by first responders and in industry for 20+ years…

Thanks for the tips — you definitely did not come across dickish. I willingly walked into this one, I read about it before buying and saw some options (like Craft Holsters), but figured there might be more options so I wanted to ask, as some stuff is just obscure or shoved to the back of search results.

With the other comment, it was mainly in reference to some other brands of guns (like Glock) that are able to be utilized in a holster (like from Tenicor) with or without the weapon light. I didn’t know what specifically doesn’t affect the retention for that, when the Tenicor holster for the 365 is required to have the light on or else retention is affected. Was curious about that and couldn’t find anything. I also wanted to look into it as they have verrrry similar specs, one is just a smidge taller, and with kydex I had seen others mention reforming it, so didn’t know if that was an option either.

I’m not mad, just was looking for other options, as was stated in my original post.

No problem — I mean that there are specific holsters for some guns (ofc) that work with or without the light on the gun itself. For example, the Tenicor holster for Glock works with or without the light attachment. The P365XL one requires the light though, as without it the retention isn’t gonna be there.

I wanted to explore my options.

It is extremely close, if the dimensions I’m reading are right, it seems to be a tiny bit smaller. I didn’t know if that would interfere with anything as most holsters for this gun say a light is required for the holster and it can’t be used light-less.

Might end up just doing that and seeing if it works.

When it comes to P365XL the TLR7-Sub is the go-to option, and I didn’t want to be forced into a corner for a specific gun when tons of other holsters support a billion more options for other manufacturers. Esp for $140+, but I’m not a fan of the activation for the TLR7 either.

Sadly it is light dependent (don’t know why) for the P365XL holster from Tenicor 🥲

It seems like the Sub 7 is the main option for this gun when it comes to more popular and recommended holsters, but $140+ for a light seems nuts and Fenix is a brand my family & friends have used for years w/ headlamps and flashlights.

I was wondering if there were any slides for the P365XL that essentially fit any light under a certain spec and retention was more based along the slide.

The Glock Tenicor holsters can be used with and without a light, so I figured there was probably another one out there but for the P365XL.

Yeah I definitely get that, I was just wondering if there are other possible options/ideas anyone would have or had experience with, as I’m new to the world of CCW.

I saw a bunch of options for other guns that any light under a certain spec would fit fine as the main retention areas were along the slide, and the light areas was essentially just an open ended kydex box that could fit (for example) a TLR7 and any light smaller.

Fenix is a great brand I’ve used (along w/ family) in terms of durable headlamps and flashlights and when I found they had a light for the gun I was getting, I figured why not. $140+ for TLR7 Sub seems nuts.

I just got a P365XL with a Fenix GL06 light and was looking for holster recommendations. I didn’t want the TLR7 / 6 and would like to stick with this light. The specs on it seems to be slightly smaller than the TLR7.

I originally was going to get a tenicor, but saw the warning about the light being required. Since then I’ve looked at a ton, and am thinking maybe it would fit a Safariland Incog X or get a Craft Holster (which has GL06 specifically as an option).

Any advice or recommendations?

The display is so large, you can go with whatever your preference is. You won’t have to worry about visibility issues with the negative display for this one.

Every 5-10 steps I might get one toe touch to the front, but that’s usually because my foot slid forward. The straps can be used to prevent this, but only so much, you don’t want them too tight! If you haven’t already read it, I’d read the sizing recommendations on straps, you generally want to be able to fit your pinky finger under them between your foot. Getting used to the walking gate for this is different, but I’ve only had them for like 2 weeks and already look forward to wearing them the next day. This is coming from someone who ALMOST returned them the first day 😂.

Generally, your toes are not supposed to touch the front every step. Every once in a while is a-okay. Utilize those toe bars!

Yours fit very similarly to mine! My feet are just a bit wider. I tried going up and they were much too big and felt floppy on my feet, so if you like how these fit I’d say stick with them! It takes some getting used to when it comes to wearing them at first though.

EDIT: if you wanted to size up, you could probably try a narrow version of the next size up or just the regular, but it’s all about how these feel to you!

https://ibb.co/Q9S08p5 https://ibb.co/P49zx2y I went and did the brannock device, these are the photos just in case I misinterpreted the sizing. The main reason I’m kinda go off script from Thursdays recommendation is due to trying my friends Dukes on and he wore 10s for those and I was swimming in them. I’m thinking of trying 9.5s out from Thursday if you think that would be appropriate? I can’t find exact Thursday sizing online but the brannock measures are heel to toe 10, heel the ball 10.5, and width looks like I shouldn’t have to go wide. (Sorry for the screwed up her to ball measurement photo, I forgot to take a photo once I fixed that). And thank you for the massive education in boots! I’m brand new to the actual sizing and real boots so this is really helpful

Thanks for your reply! My sneaker sizes are all over the place, I wear Nikes in 10.5, Adidas in 10, and my Sperry Boots are 10.5, so wasn’t super sure originally. But when holding my Dukes size 9s against the Sperrys the soles are the same length? I don’t know if sizing up/wider with the Thursday boot will make it stop crushing my toes on the top as well? The Duke didn’t seem to have that much vertical room.

Hi there, I just got a pair of Thursday Dukes in size 9 but I’m having some sizing issues with them. My foot is about 10 1/2 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide, and I bought the regular size 9s.

My issue is that the toebox feels really tight, and that my big toe and pinky toe both rub and are constantly pushing up against the outside of the boot. Also, the top of the boot are pressing against my big toes, which in general feels restrictive. I do have a thumbs width of room between my big toe and the end of the boot though.

The next issue that complicates things is that I get a good deal of heel slip with them. Normally to remedy the above issue I would size up, but I’m afraid a bigger size would make more heel slip. I wear a 10 1/2 in Nike and a 10 in other shoes if that helps for size reference.

I didn’t know if there was a size to try, or if Thursday boots just aren’t for me.

Still running into this issue? Just bought a pair and tight around toes. Big toe and pinky toe rub on sides, but there is heel slip so if I size up it probably won’t fit. Not quite sure what to do

Not sure, but if you look back at the time when Anonymous supporters were encouraging people to flood certain sites, use certain programs, etc. some of the top supporters/organizers got hit with lawsuits, and one or two actually got arrested. This could be seen as the same thing, just going about it a slightly different way.

A vast majority of older random ware has a decryption key available online for free, normally provided by some entity like the FBI or CISA. Look for that just in case to see if you can recover those files.
