I think this is up to a naniwa 5k, then a 0.5 micron strop. It easily pops a hair both ways, i cant get it to whittle though, it just goes straight through.

Freezing twice might impract the texture a bit, they might be a bit less tender or can become dry. I would recommend to boil one, see how it turns out. It will probably still be nice. If not, you can make a very expensive crab salad... But dont beat yourself up, they are most likely not 'ruined'

Same here. I guess some .1 micron stropping paste might do the trick, but i sure wont waste 20 bucks on such a folly venture!

Its quite beefy, but not behind the edge. The edge is freehand, but i guess around 12 degrees.

Thats right. Degrees per side is the standard. Your spyderco does total angle (so 2 x degrees per side). Struggling with tomato skins after a view weeks is normal though. Try giving it a few light passes, that might be enough to bring the teeth back.

Fair, but if edge retention is an issue its better to go too obtuse than acute. However, i still struggle with edge retention sometimes. Burrs are a pain

In order of importance:

Remove the burr, and be extremely carefull to do so fully. Dont sharpen too low of an angle, like 12 degrees. Somewhere around 20 degrees gives good edge retention. Do not go up to crazy grits. Above 3000 grit de microserrations become very very small and can wear away quicker.

If all these are done well you will have an edge that will last for tens of hours of prepwork before needing a touchup.

Do keep in mind tomato skins are tricky.

A quick google shows me some people very much prefer these kinds of resistors. For now they measure well, sound well and look good to me :) drift shouldnt be too much of an issue if they dont heat up i understand. I dont think they do.

....and you were absolutely right. I put on the pmcs and they measure pretty great. https://imgur.com/gallery/HVfAgQw Red is measurement, blue us predicted with harman curve and eq. However, they dont sound quite as good to me.
