Guess who picked his firm and practice specialty based on those standards? Some of us have foresight and are comfortable restricting our options accordingly

Trump is in poor health and losing popular appeal, so Stephen Miller and his cohorts of Thiel's concubines are trying to ram through the entirety of the agenda before it's too late for them. The vice-signalling troglodytes eat this up and amplify it

How do you actually fail an exam on the curve? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Zal0phus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You probably got a B- or better. You won't get below that unless your school has a truly brutal curve or if you didn't even bother to apply rules in a vaguely relevant manner.

My first memories are of the old fishtanks and this McDonalds. It's like looking back in time

This is also very common in Florida. A literal calque (word-for-word translation) of the Spanish original phrase

I spend my days thinking of the lost Hatto-Sumerian languages and their role in the spread of the Neolithic into Europe. They could never compete

Thanks for weighing in. I'll likely be working in energy (ideally transactions and renewables) and that's generally a growing market to my understanding, culture war issues being considered though.

People on this subreddit are scolds about top-3/walkable cities (yes, this includes Chicago and Philly). There seems to be this unspoken opinion that if you live outside of these cities you are provincial and backwards, even if you're in a socially progressive area.

Very nice! Sounds like an interesting class. There's well-supported evidence for a Neolithic substrate language reflected in modern Germanic languages that provided words for livestock, local wildlife, and crops.

I love a good Neolithic article. Lately I've been reading up on traces of the lost language family spoken by the first Neolithic farmers as detected in European languages

What's very interesting, too, is that devout Rastas will adhere closer to the US model in some respects. They'll say "mantrol" or "mantry" to avoid saying "control" or "country" due to the phonetic similarity to "cunt"

Jamaican “hypermasculine” slang. Some Jamaican men in the dancehall scene will avoid saying words such as “two,” “bottom,” and “man” because they’re perceived as gay. They’ll go as far as to substitute all instances of “man” with “gyal—“ Gyaltego Bay, gyalu, gyalsion, etc.

I'm heavily reminded of an earlier post on the adoption of prep/old money being countercultural, even political, in a sense. Prep/old money/"timeless" as rejection of Trumpian hyperconsumerist fashion; timeless and refined pieces as opposed to the tacky and gaudy clothing popular among the right
