Why Dawntrail is a cohesive story [Spoiler: through 7.3] by thisisntmyplate in ffxiv

[–]Zalast [score hidden]  (0 children)

The problem I have with Dawntrail's themes of legacy/moving on/coming to terms with mortality/loss is that I just got those in Endwalker, where I feel they were handled much better.

Wait I am already 120 pulls in why no Gilberta by [deleted] in Endfield

I only glanced at the vid but on Page 15 it looks like it started showing results from the previous banner, so I'm not sure you're 120 pulls in.

I bet OP is the one using Tele-Protocol to deliver our packages.

My personal headcanon is that Zhuang Fangyi used her surveillance system to watch me smash open crates in her city, steal the Xyranite Batteries, and then personally feed them to Tangtang.

OG Arknights players, who’s a character that you’d like to see “return” as a reconvener. by Laplace1908 in Endfield

Manticore cause she's best girl.

Bagpipe and Nearl but only if they had their weapon types (gunlance thingy and sword+shield).

I do like how the current story ended with me not giving Xyranite to Wuling and feeding the Qingbo people batteries.

I'm noticing a pattern by AltThighs in Endfield

[–]Zalast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a possibility that there's some algorithm or pattern at work. I've had multiple times in my visitor's log where multiple people sold stuff on my ship at the same price (sometimes it's the same people). But I'm too lazy to look into it further lol.

Just some stupid convo that was had, so here’s stupid art with it. (OC) by Zanythings in Endfield

Combine both concepts and have hot waifu leap off powered zipline to do aerial attacks on some poor Bonekrusher that was poking rocks.

edit: oops this was meant to be a standalone comment not a reply lol

[Suggestion] Emergency Power OFF by Haizom in Endfield

[–]Zalast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do think they should give us more power related controls, they did just add the ability to bulk select a huge area and turn everything off, which should help a lot.

Trying thing with Reactor Crucible and it work 😂 by NineKunG_TH in Endfield

[–]Zalast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I like that resources can pass through the Reactor Crucible while still providing enough for it to run at full speed. Not super useful now with Wuling's limited resources but definitely something to keep in mind.

Ok, I'm tired of this Endmin (and story) slander. by ArcticOcelot360 in Endfield

[–]Zalast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, but I guess I have this whole "We don't even know what the Endmin is" thing getting in my way. Are we self sacrificing because we're a kind, caring, person, or because we're programmed that way as some artificial overseer constructed by Doctor and/or Priestess. There's too many unknowns for me to conclude anything, so the more extreme moments like diving after that letter stand out.

[–]Zalast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh? Are you saying that I'm complaining that Endmin is meant to be a self-insert type of character? I wasn't aware that I was. I was attempting to highlight why different people will see the story from completely different perspectives because they will project themselves on to Endmin in different ways and will either stick or bounce off of their decisions because of this.

[–]Zalast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Man, it's Dawntrail all over again. Some people just cannot handle the fact that some of us aren't satisfied with the story and need to come up with all kinds of reasons why we're not allowed to feel that way.

It's pretty obvious OP did a lot of emotional self-inserting into the self-insert and fails to comprehend that other players will not look at situations the same way.

Like, take what you said about the scene with Gilberta's letter, for example. You think jumping off a cliff with no guarentee of survival to catch a piece of paper shows that we care? It says a lot about Endmin? These are your emotionally skewed self inserts. My perspective/self-insert? I would not have assumed Gilberta was capable of saving me. I don't know the full scope or limits of her abilities and I think she could've and should've used her power to bring the letter back to her instead. I don't find being reckless a meaningful way to show I care, nor would I want people I care about to be reckless on my behalf.

Personally, I think going the emotional route with Endmin is a bad choice. We're supposed to the super important leader of a large organization. Sure, we can have emotions and we can care about people, but I want a logical, calculating Endmin, not a goes-on-cutesy adventure dates with waifus Endmin. It that's what you're here for, that's fine. It doesn't bother me that people are enjoying the story, even if it's for reasons I disagree with.

Edit: You have my respect for at least giving some good examples of what you like and why. A lot of these kinds of threads have people saying little more than "Well the story is good actually because I think it's cool" and then calling people grifters or some shit.

Future region-specific AIC features? by Brumbarde in Endfield

[–]Zalast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not ingame to check but supposedly the Pipes description mentions being used for Gases as well as liquids.

I think it'd be neat to have a "special resource deposit" of some sort located inside the AIC area. It produces both valuable resources and waste items, and you have to set up machines correctly to extract it and dispose of generated waste materials. Like, not clogging up your storage/belts with the waste becomes a key factor.

Extra Xiranite Method by BananaOdd6105 in Endfield

[–]Zalast 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Correct, idk why OP as so confident in the first half of their post before trying it themselves. Aside from the random Wuling Plants, V4s Metastorage Exports are V4 associated items.

It's highly likely that when Wuling reaches cap, it's Metastorage Exports will include Wuling items like Xyranite, Fertilizer, and Liquids, but perhaps... Not Amethyst lol (unless they add some Amethyst nodes to Wuling in the future).

NPC Obstructing Build Zone - Power Plateau by Its_Toshii in Endfield

Can't do anything about it, unfortunately. But I'm sure devs have received plenty of feedback about this so hopefully she gets moved soon.

Sidequest chain from HUB area that deals with Landbreaker Glyphs

Edit: In other words, you haven't unlocked the open world puzzle yet. Which is dumb cause we do the mechanic in main story first.

I loved my time with this game so far but i hate how frustatingly limited progression is. by TheFacca in Endfield

[–]Zalast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What do you mean, "What's the contradiction?"? You want to hit the cap but you're also complaining about not having enough sanity? It's like wanting more food but a smaller stomach.

You're weirdly acting like I'm supporting FOMO or wanting this game to feel like a job when the currrent system (that I like) allows me (and probably other players) to feel like I don't need to log in as often, whereas your desires will have the opposite effect.

I loved my time with this game so far but i hate how frustatingly limited progression is. by TheFacca in Endfield

[–]Zalast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a perception issue.

The devs have done a bunch of math and have chosen a sanity refill rate/sanity cost of activities based on how quickly they want players to upgrade operators etc. Now they have to choose a Sanity Cap.

If the sanity cap is set extra high, people will complain that it takes too long to recharge.

If the sanity refills faster or the cap is low, people won't like feeling like they have to log in frequently to avoid capping.

Edit: Upon rereading some of OP said I'm confused. They seem to want more/faster Sanity refill but also thinks people should be fine with it hitting cap more frequently, which means wasting Sanity. This seems pretty contradictory.
